What do you think? Is it worth it?

$1800 is alot of buy ins.

And at the rate my bankroll is going, it's going to take, well, a LONG time to recover that. Think on a geological scale.

There is no doubt there is alot I can learn, but I'm wondering if maybe too much of it would be over my head at this stage (I have maybe 15-17k online hands under my belt and I've never played live).

I have turned at least a small corner, and I don't donk off nearly as much as I used to. I actually have some pretty good runs and my bankroll graph hasn't gone significantly down hill in a while.

What do you think? Who here has attended?

I'm dead serious about improving my game, but I wonder if that $1800 could be better spent elswhere at this stage in my development (or NOT spent elswhere, whatever).

Thoughts?

WPT Boot Camp

I personally do not think it is worth it right now. I would think you need to be winning, or atleast getting in the money, in a very high percentage of tournaments before you could justify that kind of expsense. A friendly suggestion would be take a few hundred dollars and go to a real casino and get some first hand experience against other amateurs. If you do well for several sessions then you can think about going to boot camp. I have won money 90% of the time in the Mississippi casinos and I want so bad to play in the wsop but risking that kind of money just is not worth the risk yet. $1800 is a lot for lessons even if it comes from the pros.

Yeah, my complete lack of live play is a major point.

As far as tournament play, I only cash maybe 6/10?

My cash play can be dicey, but I have seen definate improvement in the last few months (my poker career is about 7 months old).

I haven't been to WTP Boot Camp but have been to WSOP Academy and consider it a good investment, but maybe that's because I've done well at the academy tournaments and walked away with good wins and free return classes (I've actually been to four of them now).

For pure instruction it would be cheaper to sign up for one of the online training sites, but being there and getting lectures and hand labs with the pros is both fun and enlightening. I initially went because it was something I decided I just really wanted to do.

If you have the extra money, base your decision on how much you'd enjoy the experience as well as what you can learn there. I don't regret doing it at all, but yeah, it's not cheap.
