I like ring games, there is less variance involved and more room to make money I think. I dont like the constraints of having a certain number of hands. Although tourney odds are very fun to play with, i would rather always like the hand im going in with and not feel pushed into pushing.

i like ring games too i found in multi table tournments i can fall apart but on the ring games i stay pretty consistent cause its allways in money not 3000 chips its 10 bucks. But i do like the opportunity to win big money in tournies to cause u dont have to pony up so much money

I like ring games as its alot easier to make money. But once u've made the money from ring games, go n' play in a MTT with that hard earn money (its praticaly a freeroll!).
I love MTT's for the odds, later stages where the pressure gets bigger n plus it feels great when u get a stack up to $200,00 from $1500.

I enjoy MTT's more but if I'm trying to win cash Ring games are better because eventually the escalating blinds in a MTT force you to get involved in hands with holdings you would normally not play.

Ya i love Sit n Go's for the reason that everyone starts with certain number of chips and you have to build off of it i always find that in ring games i just get owned since i dont have enough money to not called me with a draw or something like that and get rivered out

I prefer SnG. Since only a few people will be winning money, the play is generally a little more solid (once you get past the kamikazes in the low money ones of course).

I agree with juniorsdaddy, SNG's are where I find the most enjoyment in playing, quicker than large tourneys, pretty good players.

I like small sit-n-gos. Small risk with a known reward. Less likely to severly damage my bankroll quickly!

Since we aren't drawing a distinction between 6max/full ring/heads up tables...

what i want to know is what exactly would qualify here as "other" ?

I prefer ring games, mostly because of the time involved in MTT's. I 'usually' can get a return of 5-10% on my money in just a few minutes, albeit not a huge amount since I play the smaller cost tables.

I like mostly MTTourneys since, i dont know theyre the kind of thing i like, you know, one winner in the end, everyone facing everyone, youre against the ropes more often and more compromised than other games, plus bigger prizes and more people, the only bad thing is they last an eternity.

theres a reason why wsop is so popular, i guess.

If I had an unlimited amount of time and no deistractions, I would play only MTT's but with time and distractions always an issue, I am usually confined to SNG's and ring games.

I go with the ring games - they are just more flexible, i can leave whenever I want, blinds dont increase (only when you decide to move up, hehe). Although I had some months where I only played the 27er SNGs and did pretty well. But it is so annoying to play for two hours and then be the bubble boy

I seem to do a little better in the tourneys. However, many of them take too long, some way too long and you end up playing for hours for a couple of bucks or nothing if you don't make the money. Ring games should give you a better return if you play well.

...

well it depends sit n go's are good if you only have a small time to play same thing with cash games. bUT i also like tourneys too. tourneys are a good challenge especially when theres a few thousand people. Just to make it to the final table is a great accomplishment. Dont get me wrong i still play alot of sit ngo's but i like to mix it up and play them all even though im terrible at cash games.
