Thank you very much for sharing your experience.I'm in the micro, not over a dollar played, hehehe. I'm trying to join a team here in Brazil to improve my game and test my knowledge in practice.Until then, I have been following this site a lot and even not playing here, it has helped me a lot! For those who are at the beginning of the action, what do you recommend?I'm studying mindset, preflop, mdf, 3-bet and moves. What do you recommend and by what order?
TNKNS! :fight:
Hi there, if you are studying these, I feel you will be well on the way to being successful at poker,
I will give you my views now, not how I learned 25 years ago lol, although dont forget I am only a break even player, not a winning player
I am 95% a satellite player, the other 5% Tournys so my learning views are based on these not cash.
Mindset, I think its very important to have your head in the right place, and to feel comfortable with your surroundings,
HUD this is a must for beginners imo. learn the hud, and its pop up's inside out, start off with the basic stats, and when you have learned them add more, keep comparing your numbers to better players , go online theres loads of video's about huds, watch the streamers/any videos of big players with huds online, see how much they rely on them, you will soon see what kinda numbers you should be reaching for,
Once you learn the hud you can visualise in live play how you take this forward and rate people compared to your online hud stats, if I had learned with a HUD I believe it would have saved me Thousands in my early days,
Preflop play, there's loads out there online to perfect this
Your position play, this is pretty easy to learn the basics, and once again the hud will show you your opponents weakness through their position play.
Start as you mean to go on, learn how to target weak players, this is easily done with your hud, at lower stakes especially the game is filled with flat callers and limpers
Learn how and when to flat/float correctly
Bet size, c/bets 3bets and push/fold,
I think these are more or less the basics, if I was a beginner now, I would make sure I had these foundations set in stone. and then comes the studying side of it such as GTO which I struggle with, although I am finally trying the hand/range reading side of the game at the moment which for me is not easy.
Best of luck m0t22 and I hope you make it.
