won't forget this one..... ever! 10 players at the table, i'm SB early in a tourney. #s 1 thru 8 limp in i have Ks 3s i think to myself, hmmmm K3 is crap, but 19 to 1 pot odds? i call. miracle flop! 337 i check BB checks #1 bets the size of the pot. it's folded around to me & i call. BB folds. turn is a 9. again a pot bet & call river is a K i bet all in with 3s full & player #1 calls & shows AA. he proceeds to ask how i called with K3 i ask him how i was supposed to NOT call with 19 to 1 pot odds. & he calls me a donkey!!!

online poker. You always raise with AA. Even in live poker raise with AA. Unless you know that the action will be very short handed. 2 to 3 players in the pot, raise with aces. It's the correct play cuz you might've raised and picked up the blinds, but he wouldnt have lost tht big pot.

I don't consider this particulary good advice. If i'm in early position on an agressive table then limping becomes a viable play.

You just need the disipline to not get too attached to the hand if there are no raises.

I agree...he slow played the aces...and you were right to make the call.

The previous poster said that if he were at an aggressive table he's going to smooth call...well, he's going to get 5 or 6 people to see a flop with him..and he's going to be upset when someone flops 3 3s.....ESPECIALLY early in a tourney, I'm going to see a cheap flop...sometimes this dooms me, other times one hand can put me in or near the money...
Just doubling the big blind would have put me off of K3. It was the AA's mistake.

I learned about slow playing AA the hard way in a $1 tournament yesterday. I had AA and KK before and both times raised 5x BB and collected blinds. When in the BB I checked AA to 4 callers. Flop comes 7,9,10 rainbow. Checked to me I raise 3xbb and get raised by a player that raised almost everyhand and he just called preflop. I go all in and he has 8,6 os.

if you already have four callers and your last to act you need to raise your ideal situation with AA is to be going heads up to maybe 3 handed but not 5 handed at five handed your only about 35% to win leaving the field 65% to beat you. you should definently raise if you are last to act pre flop and have four callers to thin the field

The case in which people can slowplay AA is at a aggressive table, not one filled with a bunch of people who want to see a flop. I would strongly advise not slowplaying at low stakes as there are just more people that want to see a flop, and will do so on a raise, but wont raise themselves.

A problem that arises is balancing this play, and I typically raise everything from UTG that im going to play, as limping UTG I dont think is a good move with other hands, open to arguements, and my limp raise range would pretty much be AA.

Thats not a badbeat at all, he's the donk for not raising with AA preflop. I always hate when people try to trap by limpin in with AA, thats a dumb move to me bc u can so easliy let someone in the SB or BB get in cheap with a bad hand and out flop u like u did. If u see him again tell him te read a book on how to play AA preflop.

I won't agree OR disagree. Just tell you my experiance At last Fridays CC FR at Carbon! One hand I get pkt As and push all in pre flop-the others fold, I win the pot! I get 'em AGAIN 4-5 hands later and slow play 'em, bet only the pot-get called-THEN push all in and dont villian pull a straight?? And I'm just about out of the tourny--next hand I AM out! Y'all do the math! And I personally USUALLY will fold K-3, BUT I HAVE won a pot by calling w/K-2! And got called alot worse than DONKEY!:D

wow the AA guy is clearly a donkey... He wasn't expecting that with 8 players to the pot his aces would still be good in the flop without improving into a set! I mean they could be, but there is also a strong possibility that they wouldn't be
