worst poker blunders

I just had a "wow I am stupid" moment.

I had about 1600 chips in a sit & go, I was delt 7,7 I was last to act before the small blind & raised to 4 times the big blind. The SB dropped, the BB called & 2 other limpers drop. The BB only had about 600 chips left & I had a really good read on him.

The flop came 9, 2,3 nice flop for me, I'm pretty damn sure he has Ace, J or Q. I bet 50 & he calls, turn is a 5, I bet 100 & he calls. The river comes its a 4, GREAT I think still no help for him. I put him all in & he calls & he flips over A,J. Hey WTF why are the chips going to him!?!? OMG a straight, what a donk I am.

To add insult to injury the very next hand I'm delt QQ, I raise 5 times BB pre flop I get one caller. Flop comes K, Q, 5, the BB raises 100, I reraise 200 & he calls. The turn shows a 6, I go all in & he calls he flips over J,9 & of course a 10 comes on the river.

I went from chip leader to out in 2 hands lol

Man I have had those Poker "DOH" moments, then your mad at yourself for a half hour saying WHY WHY did I call that? Hmm infact had one in yesterday's early freeroll. Sometimes you just gotta do something bumbling to "Hopefully" learn from it.

I'm confused...I don't understand how your opponent won the all in or how could he have a straight. Am I missing something here?

he had a wheel against a pair of nines. Wheel wins. A-j in the hole with 2345 on the board.

Well, there was last night when I called a 3xBB raise with 57 offsuit and my opponent had AA... no wait, it was me with the AA and the other guy with 57, and the flop came 57something. :mad:

I did that last night. I was playing a MTT and there were some really slow connections, so I thought I would kill the void by playing the 1c/2c table in the background. If I lose, no big deal, no stakes at hand, but it keeps me occupied. Well, the MTT action picked up and I was trying to juggle to fast paced games. I was dealt A-5 and the flop was A-?-A (can't remember the middle card. I bet 5 x BB, one called. The turn came, I bet the same, the river came, I went all in, he called and the cards were flopped. The money moved to him. WTF??? I looked at the board, a straight draw. DOH!!!! He had K-10, and the money all went his way. Lesson learned about juggling two tables!!!!

I did somethin like that erlier. The whole had I was beting on a pair of 9's that i had on the flop. At the showdon someone fliped TT and the chips got pushed over to me! I looked at the dealer chat and realized i had a straight. I coulda made so much more if i realized that!

I think straights catch out everyone sometimes - flush possibilities are easy to spot, and overcards to your pair are obvious scare cards. Equally the board pairing can be a worry. Those random cards, though, that just happen to be close enough to make a straight possible, they're tricky to spot sometimes, particularly when like tucker you're looking at the wrong end of the board... Omaha's just as bad for catching you out with it, too - although you need 2 hole cards towards the straight, someone still often has the goods.

Last night in Omaha H/L....hole cards were QhQs10h5c...flop comes QcKs10d
small blind bets 200..I call + 3 other callers..Turn comes 6c..big blind goes all-in..i'm thinking...GREAT..probably has a straight...I call, thinking mind you that I have a FH...lol..Not for one second did it come to mind that I DO NOT have a FH becoz this is Omaha...BB shows 3 K's and I'm shocked as hell not to mention realizing what a JACKASS I am.... lol... :-(
