Well, the title should be best laydown ever since my opponents fold saved me 300 bucks. Playing $1/2 no limit- I raise preflop to $20 with 1010 and one guy calls. He's been playing bad and showing a lot of bluffs, so I figure I should be able to take some chips from him if I get a decent flop. Flop comes 456 with 2 hearts, I bet out $40, he raises me $40 more. I put him on either top pair or some kind of straight/flush draw-so I make a bad move and push in my last $250. He thinks forever, tells me he has 23 but feels he's beat. Finally, he mucks his hand face up and asks if I had his straight beat. I was laughing on the inside b/c I couldn't believe he called my raise with 23 and then mucked when he flopped a straight with it. I told the guy good laydown and wondered how he could possibly think I raised $20 with 37 or 78- the only two hands that beat him.

im weird

:joyman: My worst lay downs usually come when i have a feeling, no matter what the hold cards are. Everytime i truly have a feeling i am always right, its uncanning. The problem is trust, i have to trust the feeling is right and be willing to ride with it nomatter the outcome. That's the hard part so i struggle, because i use my brain to much and may start to analyze my hold cards and fold.

You'll find the occasional player, at any level, will make lay downs because they have no idea what they're doing are where they're at in a hand. I'm surprised anyone would fold 23 there. He might have said that just to search for info, maybe to see what you'd say.

somtimes for noobs a little infomation is very dangerous. he prob just starting to learn the game and read sumthing in a book like, "folding is one of the most profitable plays in poker" then has tryed to use that info to his benefit without really understanding it. then BAM. lol. prob thought to himself that was a genious fold. reason i say this i done a similar thing myself, but it was a bit more co$tly then folding the best hand. lol. involved supersystem and doyle's loose aggressive play. didnt realize there was a bit more to it then bet bet bet!!!!!!!! = RAIL
