I've withdrawn at least twice in the past through echeck which gets deposited electronically into my bank account and it has worked. This past week I made three seperate withdraws and I know for sure that one of them (I think the middle one) has been declined. I got an email from stars saying:

Your recent Echeck cashout has been rejected with the reason 'Invalid
Account or Routing Number'.

I emailed back and they say that any more withdraws probably won't go thru either and that they were not told a specific reason why.

Does this happen alot? It seems stupid that it would suddenly happen esp having worked before. I would contact my bank directly but I don't have any kind of echeck routing number or something so they can see what happened.

Update: As of 5th June PokerStars is having echeck problems with depositing. If you are looking to deposit at an online poker site with echecks we recommend you try Ultimate Bet

Read below maybe that will help clarify:

Hello Jessica,

The reason I requested the check in the first place is because I was warned that I would never receive a check from pokerstars. I have relatives that live overseas. Two aunts and a grandmother that have sent birthday, Christams and Easter cards. Birthday cards were for myself, my brother and my mother. More than 6 cards a year from each of them. Eighteen cards a year for 35 years and never once did any of them ever get "lost in the mail". You can say the check was sent all you want but it wasn't. I will request the check again but doubt that it will ever arrive and am confident of only one thing. That I will continue to receive the canned response from pokerstars regarding time frames and checks being lost in the mail until I give up or you decide that it may actually be better to actually send the check in my case. Maybe you actually believe what you are saying. I know better though.

Please allow me to explain, when you make a cashout request to
receive a check, it may take up 5 days before your check is actually sent
via regular mail or UPS. If you request another purchase in that
time, our system automatically cancels your pending cashout instead of
submitting a new charge.
For example, if you had a pending cashout for $500.00 and you
made a deposit request for $100.00 using your visa before your check
was sent for processing, the $100.00 would not be deducted from your
Visa. What would happen is that your pending cheque for $500.00 would
automatically be cancelled and $100.00 of that cancelled check
would be credited back to your PokerStars account balance. A new
pending check would be created for the remaining $400.00. This will not
affect the date your check will be sent to you.

We do this because there's no reason for us (or you) to incur
fees on a new purchase when we can simply cancel your pending cashout.
In these cases, we will simply reduce your check amount and re-credit your deposit request amount back to your account in lieu of a new purchase.
This is why your check amount was changed. Your $30.00 purchase
was requested on the 1/1/2008, while your check was still
pending.
Your check was cancelled and a new check was created for the
remaining amount of $120.00.

I can confirm this check was sent out to you on the 1/2/2008.
Please allow 15 business days for the check to arrive.
If you have any other questions, please let us know.

Subject: Recent Inquiry

To Whom it May Concern,

I originally sent an inquiry on Jan 27th and
a gentleman named Matthew responded to me. We sent a number of emails back and forth and he had been responding within a few hours most of the time and 24 hours at most. My last email to him was regarding a check I never received.
The email was sent on Jan 29th and I have not received any reply. As I explained to him the reason I made the original request is due to reading about warnings that pokerstars will not actually send the check. My original check request was on December 29th so it should be pretty clear that I have my doubts.
Please let me know what is happening even if it is simply to
laugh at my thinking I would actually be able to cash out ever. Thank

Hello Justin,
PokerStars does send the requests to a company that actually processes and
sends these cheques. Most players receive their cheques, however,
exceptions like yours may happen.
You are more than welcome to use any of the other cashout methods we offer
at your convenience if you do not want to cash out via cheque anymore.

Magda

wow jstnorv07, thanks for putting those together(where did you see get that from???) but I don't think any of those help me. Mostly because those are about not getting paper checks in the mail. I'm talking electronic checks that are deposited straight to my bank account.

Does this have anything to to do with the fact that I live in the US?

I realize that this was regarding a paper check but I thought you would like to see how anxious they are to send people money in general. Funny thing is I read a warning so I figured I would request the check and then deposit it back once I received it. Now IF I receive it, it will go in the bank and I don't see myself making any more deposits with them. Original request was in December.

What I did above was simply paste my email correspondence with pokerstars.

Hmm..well, I haven't withdrawn from either FT or PS..but this is making me want to put my next deposit in UB as I know the cashout comes.

I got my paper check from them ($500) in about a week.

Yeah, hmm well I don't know what's going on. But I think since that I have withdrawn before I can go ahead and ask my bank why it was denied.

I'd rather not tell them that its from a poker site (if they already know, then its baaaad news) Do I have to mention this, because if I call I'm sure they will ask.

Most poker sites use a third party payment system such as Selbourne Ltd. for pokertime and royal vegas. This is given to you in an email show payment details from the site. Or it will be displayed at the time of withdrawal. That is all the bank needs to know.:):)

whoah whoah whoah...

first of all, i have been very interested with P.S real money accounts, but realize the shaddyness involved...read this whole page, and literally started an account for more info....so this is a common occurance? not recieving the money checks that they list as "cash outs"....? it isnt much of a cash out if they never send, or you recieve your money...? which times have this happened? only with high amounts? or mainly any? please help me figure out....because i truely dont have money to just waste. thank you

Tell them it's from an online merchant. Those are the instructions bodog gives customers if the bank asks. The check is not really from a poker site. It's from a 3rd party processor.

Whatever happened to FREEDOM in this country?

Stars is probably the most trustworthy of all sites. Echeck cashouts for me usually take about 13 days though. But I always get them.
