Hi all.

I play MTT & SNG`s in the main.

A problem I think I have is that I don`t play proper ring game strategy. I play it like a MTT.

One thing I want to get my head around is this.

When u play your sessions, do u...
  1. leave more sessions as a winner than a loser and overall show a profit.
  2. Leave more sessions as a loser than a winner, but overall show a profit.
  3. I leave my sessions about half and half, and overall show a profit.
I`m sure if u really are a winning player u will have these stats - I`m sure ;)

You're thinking about it the wrong way.

Ring game poker is ONE LONG SESSION. You make any one decision based on that hand. It hurts your play if you would play a hand differently because you're about to end your session and you want to book a small win, or because you're in the hole for your session and just want to get back to even.

Your percentage of "winning sessions" is completely irrelevant. Make the best decisions, get your money in when you have an equity edge, and in the long run, you will make a profit. That's proper ring game strategy.

You are thinking about it very wrong. Stats this month are 93winning sessions and 94 losing ones :) I still ran at 5bb/100 over the 20K hands involved though.

You need to think Gunslinger is correct though, your mentality if your thinking of the game in "sessions" is wrong.

If you're counting individual tables as one session then im ~55/45 winnings/losing. If you count all tables together in one chunk of time playing, its much higher.

I`m more so trying to find out what is normal and what is not.

For example, if I play 5 MTT`s in a row and don`t place, to me that is no big deal - experience tells me I win over time.

I`m not saying that I look at playing ring games session by session.

I have lots of winning sessions, and then a few sessions where I go on giant monkey tilt, play like 45/45, and generally donk off like 8 buy-ins.
