OK, no entry requirements, other than being an active member at Cardschat, ie no spammers/frw's/etc, i will judge at the end whether you qualify to win a prize.

Prize is $5 bankroll at FullTilt, and there will be 6 prizes awarded.

Competition is this: your favourite hand to play at NoLimitHoldem, and why? It can be any hand, but you must be specific, ie dont just say big pocket pair, or suited connectors, it has to be a hand, and why? Please be creative with your answer, ok, I want as much info as possible, please. And dont worry if someone else has already used your favourite hand, you can still use it, but you have to say why YOU like that hand.

Competition will end 5pm my time on this coming saturday(the same time as the FT CC Freeroll starts, so 12pm saturday, full tilt time.)

Those contributing to the prize fund will be the judges of the contest.

GL, and as an example, I will start with my favourite hand!

48os is my favourite hand, here's why:
It's the immortal hand, lol!
Nah, seriously, it's so well disguised when it hits that it nearly always gets paid off well. I play it like I have AA, and bet it as such, PF, and then when we get to the flop I take it from there. If the flop is scary, then I play it like I would play AA on a flop like that, ie with caution, but I still play it. But the thing I like about it is that now and again it will hit a flop hard, like 567 rainbow, or like the other week when the flop came 488, giving me a full house. The other guy had KK, went all in on the flop, and I busted him. Truthfully, Ive probably lost more than Ive won with 48os, but it's always fun to play it!

^^^^This is my example, and not an entry into this competition, ok?

J10s

Alot of people say this is the most overratted hand in poker, obv they arent playing it like I do. Dont treat it like its a big hand, play it like you would 23s, i.e. if you dont hit the flop hard (2pair+) your not going any furthur with it. The thing I like about it is it plays so well against other premium hands, i.e. AK, AQ KQ ect, anything that hits that normally gives flush and straight draws and people just wont let go of their TPTK no matter what you do. Im going to name J10s 'Ghillie', ill tell you why later.

My Favorite hand is 89offsuit, ive won 3 tournys with that hand, and whenever i play cash games i play them like i would with AA haha im so caught up on that hand will win everytime for it! It does backfire but the more and more i play the less i get it its weird, its prbly b/c i look for it everytime i play and just not notice how many hands i actually do play.. 89 is always good when the flop is low 563 or something so u still have a chance to hit the nuts, a lot of people will prbly throw out random hands but 89 is the best ;-)

\My favorite hand is pocket 7s. The only conceivable reason i can think of is that it was my number is most of the sports i have played in my life. also there was a span of about a month and a half that every time i had 77 and played it i flopped a set. i didn't always win with it (damn you foxwoods donkeys!) but at least i wasn't calling to the river hoping to hit something. I also like lower pairs because its harder for someone to get an accurate read on the hand in most situations.

I'd have to say my favorite hand is Pocket Jokers. It feels good knowing that as soon as the flop completely misses the starting hand I pick, that I can easily change my hand to fit my needs. Although sometimes the other players are a little suspicious when I flip up 2 clowns riding on bikes and call my hand as a royal flush.

My favorite hand is K5 hearts. BIG SEXY!! I first played the hand in the BB at a tourney at this local bar. A few callers and I checked. Flop came KdKs4c. Player bet in front of me i pushed allin. Two players called behind me and the original better folded. Cards turned up the girl to my left had 44. other guy had squat. turn came Qd. River came 5h. I hit my house and took 2 players out. so everytime i get that hand i always play it and i've done pretty well.

My favorite hand is 67 of diamonds. My favorite number is 13 & it's the only combination I can play that adds up to 13 that gives me any chance of winning

3/10 yuk
4/9 only if your a 49er fan
5/8 could work but double gaps hard to fill

so 67 is gold for me nice straight possiblities on low flop board
great for busting AA & KK been on both sides of this showdown many a time & diamonds are my girls best friend :)

A8s. When you flop the "dead man's hand" or even a nice full house, it's fairly disguised, most think you just have a pair of aces, or trip aces. I'm also a huge fan of Wild Bill Hickok, and it is reportedly the hand he was holding when he was murded in 1876. I actually had a niece or a cousin of some kind of his for a teacher back when I was in high school in Oklahoma (she was probably full of it). But she knew his history quite well, which was neat back then since I was so interested in his history at the time.

93o. I've just won my first tourney with that hand. I was at the BB, no raises, flop 99A turn X river 3, the other had like AT, i felt very happy. And after that i've won some other hands with 93o. :) My lucky cards??

There are so many hands I like... but KJs

King Jack... one of my favorite hands... a few days back I played this hand, and here is what happened...

My hand: Ks Js

Player 1: Ah Kc

Player 2: Qh Jc

Flop: As Qc 10d

I flop the best hand possible... a beautiful straight... so I just check it... and let player 1 hang himself... he bets big into the pot... player 2 folds... so I call...

Turn: 7s

Player 1 bets almost half of my stack... so I take my time, just to build up the action, and let him think he has the best hand. Then I just call...

River: 4s

Now I got the best hand... Flush... so I push all in, he quickly calls... and gets a big surprise ;-)

Pre-Flop I was behind, but by the end of the shoot out... I came out the hero ;-)

My favorite hand is 33 because when it hits with a three on the flop you can get paid off big time. Especially if there are high cards on the flop also. I've won lot's of SnG's where 33 either gave me the win or put me in the position for an easy win.

Think about it... If you had AK and the flop came out A3K, and you bet hard into me only to see me flop over a set of threes to your measly two pair. Ahhhhh, what a feeling!

pocket 2's

I like playing low pockets in late position with no raises or a single raise, depending on my chip stack. In a tourney, trips blind side people and if they hit top pair or two pair, they feel comfortable about going the distance with their betting. You can clean house on those unsuspecting players!! This is a good way of building a healthy stack that you can use to go deep in a tourney!

great entries so far, and Ive just realised Ive got lots of favourite hands, of which a few have been mentioned above, ie KJ, reminds me of my hero, MR. Kerouac for his name.
Some serious entries, some funny entries, but all good.

Keep them coming, and as an update, I will give $5 for the best serious answer, and ALSO, $5 for the funniest answer, ok. Mr Mcluskey, indeed you win, very funny, or was it serious? For that reason, that answer is banned, lol.

MODS, if you read this, can you change the title to 2 winners, please, and amend my OP if you can, to one serious winner, and one joke winner........(crap, I need to build my BR at FT to cover this, lol!)

Being new to online poker I hope I say this right, is Q10 pokets from the button with AKJ on the board. I useually will try to slow play this, but if I get lucky I will have a couple of players with two pairs or trips go all in allowing me to double or triple up :D

52 suited or not. when it hits, it's golden. i have been called so many names by playing this hand. and they are all correct in calling me the names. but i can take it. i usually only play it if i am in the big blind.

My favorite has to be 7-9 suited. Clubs to be exact. Reason being about 5 or so years ago my neighbor had a home game every Saturday and for what seemed like 6 weeks or so in a row I ended up winning the big pot of the night with the same hand. 79 of clubs. It hasn't been the luckiest of hands since then but it will always be one of my favorite hands of all time!

On the serious side I dont thinK I know, I have been letting life and poker just wash over me, but today has greatly improved my life and I have been given the all clear on a major medical issue so I gonna get serious about poker and try and learn the game properly.

Sorry for the thread jack KC but Im gonna see how I play today and might have a answer for you, although I still would like to be exempt from the prize.

OK I know I participated in the last contest, but I don't want the BR, just participating. My favorite hand is 9- 10 suited. Although I prefer clubs, any suit is fine.

Aside from just being fond of it, (I got my one and only HE straight flush with it!)it is not just the low end of a straight combo, it can belly bust too. It also seems to me that 10s and 9s come on the flop together a lot, but thats prolly just wishful thinking! I will list my dream flops:

Q- J -8
J- 7- 8
6- 7- 8
9- 9 -10
10- 9- 3

I usually tend to limp with these but will call raises occasionally depending on position.

My second favorite is 2-2, the good ol' ducks. It's a limping hand, and I usually will not call a raise with them. Short stacked, I may (rarely) open a raise or push with them. They always seem to hit the flop for me, and when they don't they are super easy to fold. Easy to fold, and an unexpected winning hand when they hit. That's the making of a good hand!
