Well that flush draw was kind of outside and sly. Can't blame him really. If you ask me your play was worst chasing that. He reraised and u called. lol

yea but the man with the kings allowed him to chase
all of his bets were tiny and gave hero the odds he needed to call

I dunno. I guess the relative stack sizes $12 is nothing. To me playing .25 cents thats too much on a flush. But yeah he should have bet the flop. Then again if you look at it this way.. could BB Villan really put hero on a flush? He saw that flop and said no draws or anything. Bad luck for runner runner but when Hero goes all in u need to lay them down.

IMO, villain's mistake came on the turn. A minimum raise? Now with a flush draw on the board? With the minimum raise, correct me if I'm wrong, he's giving Hero a little more than 5:1 to call this.

I am curious though, how much would villain have had to reraise you caliban to get you off this hand?

Villain must price you out on the turn and lead out. As played he needs to re-raise to about $25 or so at least. I don't like your play except for the river. You should take a free turn card rather than betting $6.

Even if you don't take into consideration implied odds, his call on the turn was correct. With the implied odds, seeing that the villian likes his hand enough to check raise, this is an automatic call.

Also, What JQ said ^^^^

Firstly I admit I did not play well/standard preflop.

I probably would have folded to a Raise of 21 ( meaning a call of 15), based on not knowing where I was on the hand, especially if a paired hart lands. I know Implied odds mean I can call higher if I hit, however I would prefer to let go of the $12 invested and chose another occasion. If he started with the full 200 - different story.

I'm just baffled as usual. Pre-flop "villain" did what I think he should have.

I'm still pretty crappy, but I'd have gone ahead and raised 1/2 pot on the flop. 1/2 pot's enough to make someone with pretty much nothing fold(unless they're a chaser, but ah hell, I'm making a point). Then I'd have bet at least the pot on the turn, because of the possible flush draw staring at me...

Now, if I bet hard all the way up to the river, and you sucked out on me...

I'd be forced to cuss you out on principle. It's not me. I don't want to cuss you out. It's the principle of the thing. That and my mild case of Tourette Syndrome.

Shouldn't this thread be in the brags and bad beats section? It looks like both to me, but what do I know?

That whole hand was played wrong in my opinion the pre-flop limp by hero warrants a min 5x the blind raise with pocket K's. I'd have raised Hero's limp 8x made it $16 to see the flop. If Hero was stupid enough to call he'd a been in a world of hurt cause I'm betting pot on flop and all-in on turn no matter what he throws at me if he's still in the hand with that board. WEAK WEAK WEAK

Peace

I don't mind the turn bet.

$6 turn bet prices hero into calling if not raised properly as happened, almost like a blocking bet. Also has the advantage of maybe disguising the flush when it hits, depending on the ability of the opponent to see it as a semibluff with the flush draw or not.

we don't make "blocking bets" out of position

he risks getting blown off of his draw if villain check raises big

Thought I'd contribute a similar hand. Villain is an absolute nit and doesn't raise without KK+ for this amount pf being out of position. I actually laughed out loud at the flop check and just hoped my diamond hit...

CO ($24.80)
Button ($29.55)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with 9

i think the kings screwed up really, he let hearts chase, should have raised preflop, bet flop, and big bet on turn. wat i dont get is once the 4th heart hit y he would play it at all, over valued the trips. terrible play IMO by KK in so many ways.

I still don't understand why people complain when they get beat like that. They deserved to lose the way they played..

Yea topic creator played the hand just fine. He wasn't "chasing" anything. He made a semibluff on the turn after two checks, then got min raised. He had to call a very small bet on the turn, he was getting 5:1, and of course odds against him making his flush were 4:1. Even if villian raised by more on the turn I would still probably call with a nut flush draw because of the implied odds, both of you had plenty of money and villian seems to like his hand so he could pay you off on the river. I think the only mistep was by villian for min raising on the turn he should have charged you a lot more. I think villian made a good check on the flop, I mean, there was no flush draw and no str8 draw unless you called preflop with 5 7 or 5 3. On the turn though he shoulda definetly bet before you, with all those draws on board.
