Some of you may have seen my other thread and really this thread is simply an extension of the thought process from that thread.

I have just a few simple questions:

1.) Why do you play online poker?

2.) Overall are you profitable in online poker?

3.) How often do you play online poker?

4.) What do you personally get out of playing online poker?

1.) Why do you play online poker?
So one day I'll be a pro. I'm very far from it, it's just a dream, but dreams are meant to be chased.

2.) Overall are you profitable in online poker?
Haven't deposited ever and I have a bankroll so yes.

3.) How often do you play online poker?
I'm increasing my volume lately, as of now I've played 105 hours in November, so almost 6 hours/day.

4.) What do you personally get out of playing online poker?
Keeping that dream alive and getting closer to it little by little.

1.) Why do you play online poker?
It still amazes me that you can sit down with anyone anywhere in the world and play the game.. The thinking involved, making the right moves and making the most correct descisions is appealing as money can be won which is always nice and the element of competition.

2.) Overall are you profitable in online poker?
yes
3.) How often do you play online poker?
a few hours a day
4.) What do you personally get out of playing online poker?
highs and lows, but mostly highs as i enjoy this game a lot! And the good feeling of building a bankroll so i can move up stakes in the future!

interesting thread!

1. I love the game. I can play in the comfort of my home or on the road. I enjoy the rush of the game, winning monster pots and going deep in tournaments.

2. Yes.

3. I'd say about 4 times a week average. For an mtt player I put in a decent amount of volume.

4. Personally, I get/got a lot of things. More money. Math. Cards chat, without poker I wouldn't be here and meet all these friends. Over all I personally get a feeling of self accomplishment from poker. It's a hobby that I love...Something I want to turn into a job one day. Everyone always told me when I was younger to make money doing something I love, and not by going through life every day dreading going to work. The only thing is it's one of the hardest professions, mentally, ever!

1.) Why do you play online poker?

Often find myself asking this question, normally after banging my head off the desk,I just enjoy the game, being able to put the pc on at any time & find a game, always learning & now and again getting paid.

2.) Overall are you profitable in online poker?

No

3.) How often do you play online poker?

3-4 times a week for 4-5 hours

4.) What do you personally get out of playing online poker?

Bruises to my forehead, grey hair and often a hangover as while having a drink often decide to play then, drink more and play more, viscious circle. Also the thrill of winning pots where you know you've played/bluffed very well, & after the red mist of the bad beats has gone away that little feeling of satisfaction when you river you 2 outer.

1.) Why do you play online poker?

The bitches.

2.) Overall are you profitable in online poker?

Fo shizzle.

3.) How often do you play online poker?

Maybe an average of 5 days per week.

4.) What do you personally get out of playing online poker?

I play for entertainment value, and I like the competition. I defiantly do not play for the money. I did at one point, but a couple years ago I played too much to clear a $100 bonus and it kind of burned me on the game.

1. I suppose the main reason is the convieniance factor compared with having to be at the casino at a certain time, i have never played live poker and now believe my poker skills would be better use online. I reckon i could be easily read live. Plus the micros stakes are appealing to many beginners which is probably why i started to play online rather at my local casino.

2.I was not really sure of this until the other day, i have now realised that you can actually check out your results and profit margins online aswell as other peoples...from this i learnt that my profit is around 50% of what i have invested hehe, so yeah i suppose.

3. This usually depends on how my connection is on the day (i really need to invest in 'proper' internet as im only using a dongle) but usually around 10hrs a day, but it can range anywhere from 4hrs - 18hrs per day.

4. Well i get so many things from poker... Stress, rage, excitement, insults, complaining from my partner, tiredness, sore eyes lol but mainly i get enjoyment, adrenaline and keep the dream of becoming a millionaire and turning pro.

:D1. Why do you play online poker? I love to play cards and have every since I was a small kid playing Canasta. It is easier than me trying to find a live game. I like the competition and the chance to get ITM. I also enjoy meeting some new people.

2. Overall are you profitable in online poker. That depends on what profitability you are talking about. I have never deposited any money so I am profitable in that I have won some money on various sites through the free rolls. Not much a few dollars here and there but on one site I won $50.00. In other ways I guess you could say that profitability could be in that you meet new people and play with new and sometimes old online friends. Sometimes friendship is greater than money. Depends on how you look at it.

3. How often do you play online poker? A simple answer would be as often as possible. Depends on my wife's and my work schedule. Generally a few hours each day and more on my off days. I plyaed all day and half the evening yesterday.

4. What personally do you get out of playing online poker. Anyone would say ( IMO) that the most important thing would be the chance to make money. But there is also the thrill of the game and as much as we do not want to say it, the disappointment of losing. I enjoy the mechanics of the game and love some of the chat, meeting new friends, laughing at the donks and possibly playing with old online friends. If not for poker I would not be on this Forum, not able to learn her and possibly give someone my opinion that helps him/her in their game.:)

I play for fun,
dont deposit and have a bankroll,
dont have much time at the moment, so a few hours of sundays will have to be enough...
Winning a MTT really gives me a kick...

I play poker online, because here in mexico playing poker for money is not legal, and there are no casinos that offer those games here... the casinos we have here only have the machines, and it's not the same as playing the table games...

I play on Full Tilt, and here are my results:

MTT: $158.49 Profit
SnG: $94.85 Profit
HU: -$10.60 Loss

in Cash Games: -$159 Loss

Literally my exact answers.

2. There's no better feeling than it clicking. I played for months and was so frustrated with myself at not being able to beat players I knew I could. Posting problem hands, and reading other people's is what helped me the most. The advice that advanced members here such as WVHillbilly and StuUngar give on the cash game hand anaylsis is remarkable tbh.
