Just for fun, lets think,,,
You have just won a competition, and the prize for it was to spend a week with your Poker Idol.
Who would you pick and why?
What would you want to learn from them?

Tuan Le.
I love his hyper loose/aggressive style. Its not only fun to watch but he plays like he doesn't care at all. I believe during the WPT season 3 championship, JC Tran said something along the lines of 'Tuan Le will treat a 10K buy-in tournament like its a $10 home game.'. His results are very impressive for the WPT. He won the WPT season 3 tour for $1.5M and the WPT championship for $2.8M-which, IMO, is one the most entertaining WPTCs I've seen.

I'd want to learn his aggression and learn about how he approaches the game. IIRC, he was mentored by Barry Greenstien, so its interesting to know what he takes from that and how he implies it to his style. I've never seen BG as being loose and wreckless, but it works so well for Tuan.

Probably f^&king Erick Lindgren - while the likes of Doyle and Chip Reese are my actual poker idols... I dunno, I figure Lindgren would have something more relevant to say about the games I'm likely to get to play in. Probably be more fun to be around for a week too.

So yeah. Probably Lindgren. Or Tony G, just 'cause I figure it'd be a huge laugh and I'd probably just spend the weak drunk in Moscow yelling "On your bike!" :p

Gus is my legend of legends, but I'd choose Daniel Negreanu to hang out with for a week. At least I'd be sure to have a laugh while learning how he so accurately puts people on their exact hand. That's something that'd definately improve my poker!

I'd pick Negreanu, even though Phil Ivey would prolly teach me better skills. Negreanu would just be a cool guy to hang out (plus he is a fellow Canadian!) with while Phil seems very quiet and hard to approach.

I'd pick Negreanu, he seems to be the most fun while being one of the best. I love his hand reading skills. Tony G seems to be pretty entertaining. Jesus also seems pretty inteligent. Phil Hellmuth is pretty good but seems like he'd get bitchy after spending a couple minutes with him lol. Howard Lederer is another one. I like Phil Ivey but he doesn't seem like he'd be into teaching or visiting. Gus Hansen, Brad Booth, Annette Obrestad, Clonie, Annie Duke, JJ Lui, Kristy Gazes ahh there are too many. I'll go with Daniel Negreanu and his chop suey hand reading skills.

I always get a kick out of watching Phill Hellmuth play. I don't mind his personality too often, and he's arguably the greatest NL holdem player of all time, and has virtually every wsop record.

I think I'd pick Antonio Esfandiari & Phil Laak....not for their poker knowledge, but because they're just plain nuts. If you're ever seen "I Bet You", a show they've done together where they wander around town making crazy bets all day long, you'll understand. If you haven't caught it, check Youtube. It's great. I'd looooove to have a week to spend hanging out with them. Not sure I'd survive the week, but I'd sure have fun trying.

Strictly for poker knowledge though, I'd pick Phil Gordon or maybe Dan Harrington. I loved Phil on Celebrity Poker Showdown. Even though the players were celebs, and not always that great, his commentary on different poker situations was very good. I always felt like I learned something by listening to him.

Kenny Tran and the online player LarsLuzak (he's so good that the high stakes guys such as durrr, ivey, benyamine avoid playing him at all times.)

His secret is having ESPN edit out the hands where he's wrong :p

The guy whose name I can never spell. I get his news letter and I went to go reference that for help, but it seems that I don't have one saved in my inbox. Daniel.... (cheating - Googled it) Negreanu. He seems to always have such a good read on people and what cards they are holding.
