Who has had the greatest impact on your game?

I would like to say that for me it was David Skalansky, but I can't.
I would have to say that the person who has had the greatest (positve) impact on my game would have to be Phil Gordon.

When I was first getting into poker, I would watch Celebrity Poker Showdown and learn the basics from him. In that I was familiar with who he was, my first poker book was his basic primer The Little Green book.

Well the greatest non pro impact on my game would probably be a great friend of mine from minnesota when I lived up there.
He is a great no limit player both online and live,he would coach me I guess you could say,he would tell me what he thought Iwas doing wrong and often he would be right.
He taught me alot about pateniece and that I didnt have to be a blaster the whole time and to slow down.

For pro who has had impact on my game,it would probably be Mike Matusow, only because I blow up just like him and will donk off all my chips when on tilt.

Thanks for starting this thread. My dad has been the most influential non pro on my game, and now I think I'll have to look into this Phil Gordon book. I'm interested to see who else has been of impact to other players.

BeardyIan. He read my soul at the table once. I didn't sleep for a week. True story. You can ask him.

Scott Fischman and Erick Lindgren. First two poker books I read were SNG Strategy by Scott and MTT Strategy from Erick.

I say my aunt. She learned and play online. She play mostly on poker stars. When I'm got real good game going like the Full Tilt challenge over the week end I was in like 87th place out of 152 players. She always tell me not sleep on others and what they might have in there hand. She's not a pro or anything but she do have a good poker mind and I think she can go real far at a real table. She's about the only person i can call and talk poker with. Not like her, I try to get more and more better with my game and I've come a long way trying to learn and losing 100s at a time learning the game of poker. A little of TV, playing on line, and at real tables got me at a fair level of the game that can't do nothing but improve more and more.

Phil Gordon, (like Ursala said in the post) with his "The Little Green Book" has had an impact on my game. Reason: It is easy to understand, not too complicated. Some books-(Skalanski's for example), get a little too deep for me. But really I would have to say my chilhood buddies had the most impact on my game:we used to play a lot of nickel-dime-quarter draw poker as young teenagers. We all loved poker, and it carried through to adulthhood.

TJ Cloutier. I saw him in the Legends Game on Poker After Dark, and was real impressed with the way he patiently folded and laid-down his way to way to heads-up, then lost on a bad beat and took it gracefully. Then I read some of his books. He exemplifies the idea that you can beat the agressive youngsters with patience and cunning.

I would say 2 players. Both Phil Gordon and Chris Ferguson. I think both are great players and I feel as if I learned a lot watching both of them.

Jesus Ferguson cos he is smart on BRM and does some inspiring things, including Zero to Hero and dicing veg with playing cards, and Annie Duke because she signed my t-shirt: "Play good. XO Annie Duke" I have it on my wall... its a good reminder when I start to get bored or stupid...

I would have to say ChuckTs and the other multi-tablers on CC making videos. They have had a profound influence on the way I play these days. Prior to that, I just played tournaments and learned from Harrington.
