I am curious about ppls feeling on posting personal strategies. Can't they be used against you? I am all for poker communities, just worried bout exposing personal strategies. Also, I enjoy giving and getting advice, with a lot of experience, and realizing we can't know it all.Any thoughts?
I like to keep my username as a secret from the public but even without doing that, I wouldn't be worried. I mean what are the
odds that you would actually end up playing in the same table at the exact same time with someone who has read your post where you expose your strategy? There are so many poker players in the world so I would say it's highly unlikely.
My own strategy is to be unpredictable and play hands differently whether I have something or not. Sometimes I'm checking the nuts, sometimes I might raise or reraise right away. Then I might do the same when I'm
bluffing or holding something weak so even though you know my strategy, you wouldn't know if I actually have it or not. That's the beauty of it all. The point is to have a good strategy that is not easily exploited at the table, then it doesn't matter if you share it or not. Plus, we all know what strategies famous poker players use but I doubt that we would be able to beat them still. Knowing something in theory is not the same as actually being able to take advantage of that.
