I do not know ... maybe.
And how much you want to earn (amount)?
I think poker rooms do not like to part with large sums of money

It is possible to make money playing poker, but expecting it to be consistent is a recipe for disappointment. It is common, even for good players, to experience substantial swings of 10 or more buy ins. You can hedge against this by playing against whom players you have a substantial edge, or by playing massive volume versus even weaker competition.

I would say the answer is yes. But it takes hard work, patience, and good BRM. They say it's best to live and eat healthy. A sharp body makes a sharp mind. Keep your lifestyle in check and don't tilt.

yes you can , but u Need very big bankroll to start with if u want to make a stead salary every mth.. playing cash is the best , cos u ll know your hourly rates at any given times.. it depends how much u want to earn a month to thnk it s gd .. if u want to make 100 bucks a day , so like 2500 a mth , mind you 5 days r off in a mth ( u Need off to revitalise ur Body n mind ) . then you Need to Play cash 10 nL and Need to be up 10 buyins a day . so that s like 100 bucks a day . but to Play that 10 NL , i would advice 1000 bucks bankroll. you Need to continue playing on that Level for 4 mths to even considering moving up.. it s just a Guideline and my 2 Cents advice.. it is upto you what and how much you want to earn and how much hard work you ready to put in

To become a professional poker player - a dream of many people. However, it is not as easy as most people imagine. For every professional, make millions of dollars, there are thousands achieved only particles that result. The harsh reality of professional poker players is that you probably will not reach that dreamed about, and emotional and financial fluctuations can be much more than you realize.

Yes it is possible, as said above it takes more work than people realize. Studying all the different aspects of poker is a must it will help you with bankroll management, %'s, EV, etc.

Also studying your days play can also help pick hands out that you maybe feel you could of played better or differently, hands that you should of got away from and adapt in to a better more all round player.

Also don't expect this to happen over night it will take months of hard work but overall if you work hard at it, it is possible.

yes you defintly can, but it requires alot of hard work and the returns are not what many people think, people think most pros are making millions of dollars, I cosider somone pro if they can average 2bb an hour even 1bb an hour you can play for your rent and at a 2/5 table that is minimum wage some people can do better but as long as you can play consitantly and have the bankroll it can be done. and because of the rake there will always be more losers than winners at the game

Of course you can make a living. It all depends on your skills and abilities. Just remember one thing - in a poker game, and you can lose all the money in life.

US players wanting to make a living playing poker...... Where to play? Who offers the best rakeback deals??? who offers the most incentive to play and give cash rewards??? Where can you live with multiple poker rooms within 30 minutes of your home???
I've seen people do very well competing in the ACR sitn'crush and thebeast promotions making $100+ weekly promotion bonus +$100 rakeback for middle of the pack activity....
Live poker has to be part of the equation....There are many areas that are not commonly thought of as good poker towns, to name a few:St.louis, chicago, Colomus OH, all florida cities, Iowa...just to name a few that are not NJ or NV or CA or WA

It's risky for sure, there will be months when you actually lose money - always being profitable in poker is not common at all!

well started back like 3 months ago with zero ran up 800 so far and have no other income this month is tough having bad luck for sure but have maintained or increased my bank on a few sites being in freerolls here is now beginning to help thank god. Is not time for me to push cause cards are harsh.

I am playing pennies working up each account slowly and freerolling.

I am having what I consider a very tough month but only takes one 1.00 2k win and will have my month and have time:)

that is why works for me have nothing but time right now so if am patient will slowly pay off and will move way up.

is not easy though and im soaking up a lot of hours for returns that are pretty small right now.

Once I get some wins on a few sites in the 100's things will change will play higher ring etc... so yes its possible I did it for years in past but takes a lot of patience discipline and for sure luck and time

Of course there are people out there that do it and make it work. But I don't think it's realistic for most people. I like the idea of having poker as a side income, but it sounds difficult and depressing trying to support myself off of poker. There are no benefits. No medical, dental, 401k, or steady paycheck. It's good to have a backup.

It is possible to make it, but it's very hard and not exactly "steady" as you said. But most of the professionals that do it, usually also has income from coaching and classes that they do. It's better to have some sort of "safe net" for your income. Hope that helps. :)

It depends on how you define making a living. I've been only playing poker for income for the past 3 1/2 months. And I managed to pay my bills and make the majority of my goals. But because I have to withdraw money for bills and lack of action I probably won't be moving up in stakes. Also I can only play 4 sngs at a time on bovada so even at 40 hours a week you can only expect to make so much money.

It's becoming obvious that I'm not gonna get rich doing this alone so I've been considering getting another job so I can move up in stakes quicker.

It is definately possible, but as has been said it all depends on you. I honestly think that at a time of uncertainty the US players have it harder than the rest of us, because some idiot thought they could put a stop to it and were basically jealous of how much people were making and got the government on side by telling them how much money they were missing out on.

I believe that anyone can make a living at poker but they need a totally focused lifestyle and understanding of what they are trying to achieve. There will be no time for relationships, only new ones. The old addage of "take me on as I am and not as you want me to be" will be very prevalent in any relationship you have. I cannot imagine anyone having a normal 9 - 5 job suddenly changing their lifestyle and their wife/ partner and/ or children accepting the change without any fuss. I wouldn't expect them to.

You will need to be as healthy as possible both mentally and physically.

You will need to be able to learn and dare I say have quite a good brain. After all that you will need to have both stamina and patience. Gl with it all, if you intend to try. I just wish I was 20 years younger and I would be there with you.........:D:D:D

if you look at pokerstars and win 1 million shares in the spin-and-go for $ 5, then you can play and earn a living)))
