currently playing on stars, but thing is the fields in their tourneys are too big IMO. and the "grntd $$" tourneys are pointless because people always flood into those things and it becomes a normal tourney. like 5k grnt on stars for 5.50. problem is 3000 people join, 2000 more then what would make it a "bargain" if you can call it that.

only site i can think of that actually has grntd money tourneys that are bargain is pacific poker. each field is about 250-700 for the 5 and 20k grntd. party poker's rake is too high, and their tourneys are borderline IMO and not worth the overall commitment of playing there exclusively.

Can you guys point out some good sites out there for this sort of thing?

Also, irrelevant but - does bodog allow non US players?

I can only answer that Bodog allows both US and Non-US players.

I feel like pokerstars has the best tourneys because of the very large fields when you finish top 3 or final table the payday is that much better, but if you are looking for smaller fields Ultimate Bet seemed pretty decent but I didn't spend long there.

I am 95% sure bodog allows non US players

i would urge you to check out fulltilt poker.. they have many guaranteed tourneys each day with different buy-in levels.. fields are much smaller than pokerstars..

I think Pokerstars offers some of the best tournaments and payout structures. Bodog has a shitty payout structure IMO. Havent been on Full Tilt yet. But I really think that if you can play solid, ABC poker for a little while of the Pokerstars tournaments, you can make the money and open up your game to go further in the tournament

I'm not sure how you classify a "bargain"? If, in your example, 3000 players show up, that makes the prize pool 15k, well in excess of 5k guaranteed. This makes top $ something just over 2k, pretty good potential return on $5.

If you're seeking guaranteed $ tourneys with an overlay, clearly you won't find them at PS, but then, you frankly won't find them anywhere for too long. poker sites, being capitalists, won't continue to schedule events that dip into the corporate cookie jar to meet the payouts.

poker stars risk/reward is the best bargain for the money - that is if you have the time to play a whole Nation of people - and not to mention the landmines and coolers you have to hurdle every other hand - I'm actually heading back to Full Tilt for a while for the fact that the fields are much smaller - but on sunday I will more than likely play the $11 buy in 100k grnt on Stars - the prize pool always hits atleast 180k - and sometimes like this past sunday it maxed out at 200k - lots of people but quite a deal at $11 - just make sure you wear your body armor and a heavy coat w'hood!

Full Tilt has the best tournies hands down, not to mention they are very easy. Have won quite a few there with huge payouts---after the first hour tournies are best however, not a ton of people for a good payout.
