Hello,

I just deposit 1700$. Now to the question, at what limit should i start? Like to play NL hold'em and 4 tables at once. Is 0.50/1$ to high?

And another thing is SnG's a good way to build your bankroll?

Thank you. :icon_sant

What kind of experience do you have?

I would suggest lower than .50/1 if this is your first venture into money land.

4 tables? Why?

I build my bankroll almost exclusively with SnG's.

I see this is your first post, welcome to cardschat.

The first question is what kind of poker experience do you have and what is your goal in playing? Are you just a casual player wanting to have fun and you don't mind losing it? Are you actually trying to make a profit and build a bigger BR? Do you know you are a winning player? Is this your first time playing for real money?

If this is your first time playing for real money, play lower stakes first. I don't care if you deposit $50,000. Until you know you can win you could easily lose a lot of money. Of course if that $1700 is just pocket change to you and you could care less if you lose it, those stakes are fine.

If you want to make a profit and know you are a winning player, you technically should have $2,000 before going up to $0.50/$1. I'd play a bit at 25c/50c, see how that goes, and start at 50c/$1 at around $2500. But unless this is your entire BR you could probably get away with doing 50c/$1 now.

Thanks!

Ok, I have played poker for about 1 year but only live at casinos 1/2€ NL hold'em. The first 6 months i was loosing, but the last 4 months i have been winning. Now i would like to try my skills online. And would be nice if i could make profit and build a bigger BR. Yes, this is my first time playing real money online.
Funny is i played last night, opened 2 0.50/1$ tables and got my BR to 2080$. Is it good for me to continue at same limit?
Thanks again everyone for the help. And see you all at the tables.
Sorry if my english is not the best :icon_sant

The question is, do you feel you can continue to win at the .50/1 games? How long did you play to win the $380? Although not unheard of, unless you were playing a long time, that was a hot run, and you most likely won't continue it. But if you think you can handle it, go for the .50/1 games. Just try to set a limit of what you'll lose before you go down a level to the .25/.50 games. I'd say if I hit $1500 I'd drop down, but you should pick something. Looks like you're off to a great start. Good luck :)

don't start by playing 100max, play at most 50max so you can get a handle on the variance etc associated with online poker (that you will not be used to coming from live poker)
