I've noticed that I seem to get sucked out a lot more on certain sites than others.

For example... It feels like when I'm the heavy favorite (90% or better) I get river'd FullTilt more often than on pokerstars.

Anyone else catching these vibes?

Generally its on fifth street, but sometimes I'll claim to be rivered on fourth street. What can I say, I just love telling badbeat stories.

ohh I can fill out this thread will hundreds of hands from FT, almost none from PokerStars. It looks like if you're the chip leader in FT and someone goes all in, you can call with anything and win - This is, of course, only a theory and it will remain this way even if we post a million hands as a proof, still I never feel safe even when having AA up against the chip leader showing a 3,5o (lost that hand btw, turn was 5 and river was 3...)

Do you have PT? If not, go download the 60-day trial and come back with proof. Proof is not just "hey my AA got cracked by 35os". Proof is "hey I've had AA 300 times and I've lost with them 60% (or 90% as some would claim) of the time". People remember the bad beats. People forget the expected. AA is expected to win. Please describe the last time you won with AA.

agree with wvhillbilly like in rounders "i dont rememeber how i built my roll but i cant stop thinking about how i lost it" funny how just about every poker player has scene this movie and yet they try to cover up bad playing with just getting unlucky. ever notice how the top players never complain about a bad beat and i am gonna go out on a limb and say they probly see 10x the bad beats you dosince they do it for 40+ hours a week???

That wasn't my claim, you missed my point!

I said that it looks as if its rigged when one goes all in against someone who has more chips, elimination of that user is practically guaranteed - Do you have a tool that can check how many times did a favorite all in go against a really bad hand but "backed up" with chips and won?? Didn't think so
Really, try and pay attention in games when a player goes all in and get called, write down the number of times this user gets eliminated vs. the number of times this user wins his favorite hand.

(the reason is obvious - Money :) the faster games ends, the more money one spends to play another)

I think all sites are the same. On the other hand, how often have you been the recipient of these? I agree, the losses are the ones you remember. If not for these, what would we do with the term "On Full Tilt"? We'd have to eliminate it from our poker language.

Actually, I'm pretty sure you could get reports on this exactly with today's tracking software and if your contention was true it would have been proven by now. I think you need to take your own advice to heart and track how often it happens, my guess would be exactly as often as expected. If you do find anything different though please let me know so I can pull my money out of online poker. I'm not dumb enough to continue playing a rigged game.

The question you need to ask yourself is why are you short stacked? But seriously, so if you are the chip leader you should push with everything 'cause it will always win? That is ridiculous. Bigger stacks call because they are risking less of their chips to try and knock someone out. Establish an image that they will call with anything, etc...

For example, BB is chip leader (40,000) with blinds at 500/1000 - short stack of 2500 pushes all in, its not even a standard raise, BB calls with any two cards 'cause its only 1500 more to call.

By the way, I was chip leader in a SNG just now and had QQ, went all in pre-flop and lost to TT (who was the short stack). You only notice what you want to see.

Ok, I agree that poker sites should stand a chance of losing a lot if proven guilty of any form of rigging, but I have to ask this. Everyone was constantly saying that poker sites were not rigged before the Ultimate and Absolute debacle, then the truth came out now, why is it that they are both still aloud to do business after what happened? This tells me that the policing of online sites is heavily flawed and therefore there are always going to be people who will believe that trusting these sites is hard to do.

From what I have noticed most of the statistical programs are actually created by and for the sites, so why should we trust them? I would like to see the statistics of a given tourney, not the entire site. The next time you are in a tourney, I would like to see you just keep track of what goes on at your table for an hour. You will be surprised at the number of times the statistics will be out of whack. I mean the odds of certain hand combos alone is crazy. How many times have you seen three players in a pot , say with hands like JJ KK AQos and the board hits KJX A 10 or similar. Statistically you should only see these combos maybe 1:1,000,000 but I know I have seen it come up three and four times an hour.

Don't get me wrong I am not saying that online sites are rigged I am just not convinced that they are not.

Actualy there is such a tool, its called poker tracker and there are countless others(Holdem manager is another).
Poker tracker is the tool that exsposed Potripper as a cheater and if any of the big sites where rigged the hundreds of million hands from poker traceker data bases whould back your claim up but they dont.

Before claiming something is rigged how about showing some proof?
And when i say proof i dont mean pices from your selective memory but actualy data.

If u belive online poker is rigged why whould you play online?
And if you belive its rigged for the big stack why dont u go all-in every single hand when u are the chipleader?

i agree if you do not have proof it may be from your perception of what is happening and it might be bent.

Duh, The main fact I think many are missing here is that we are reading this on the internet, therefore.......

It must be true.

Wow! Look what I started here.

For me it just seems that I get bad beats way more online, than I do in real life. Some sites feel like it's happening alot more than on others.

Perhaps it's because I play 1000X more hands online, than I've ever played in real life. Perhaps it's because I play 10X as much on FullTilt, than I've been playing on other sites.

Bottom line....

This thread didn't go anywhere close to the direction I expected, and people responded with some pretty ridiculous stuff.

Remember.... "It's Just A Game" and it's supposed to be about fun. Not getting all bent outta shape and twisting everyone's words around. Relax, have a few beers, and mellow out!

It's a deal :), you have to understand we see these threads about how online poker is rigged or how the worse hand usually wins from new members are all the time. Alot of us take a perverse pleasure in giving them (you) a hard time for a while. :icon_tong If you stick around long enough, I'll bet you'll tire of these threads too.;)
