Okay, so I am mainly a live poker player. I can't always get to the casino since its 2 hours away. So I started to make deposits online. I played for maybe 3 months. But, I found that it bores me. So, I made my last deposit(a small one) almost 2 months ago. My questions are what do you do to prepare yourself for playing online? Does it ever get boring to you and if it does what do you do for that?
Also, although I am very bored with playing cash games online, I will, however, sit and play with play chips for a couple hours a day is this weird?

I might suggest to try Sit n Gos online. Blinds always climbing forcing action. I find them more enjoyable than Cash games. Goodluck

Yeah, this is why i moved to STT from cash. I'm actually a better cash player, but somewhere along the way I just began to lose interest in that format. I made the jump to single-table SnGs and, although I don't win as much, I find that I enjoy playing much more now.

I understand. Just recently dealing with this issue. I think part of the reason for me is I am a 1) very visual and 2) a people watcher.

There's no easy answer - well actually there is - in the words of Nike - JUST DO IT!.

I've just had to deal with myself and my paradigm. I know my online paradigm was wrong - don't know why but it sure was different than live. Live was like going to battle. Every time a little nervous, guarded, collecting my thoughts, preparing for a fight. Online? Like checking my email.

So instead of trying to diagnose what was wrong I invoked one of the 7 habits of Highly Successful People - BEGIN WITH THE END IN MIND.

Why do I play? I play to win. So I elevated the importance of that for me online (cause it sure ain't the $$). I elevated the importance of looking good, being respected by other online players. I elevated the importance of being a pack leader on my league team. I elevated the importance of taking each time I sit down to play as a personal challenge to crush the competition. THEY CAN TAKE OUR LIVES BUT THEY CAN NEVER TAKE OUR FREEDOM!!!
Too much?

This has all only been in the last couple of weeks and the results are showing me that it works. The problem was my mindset and just a matter of finding something to care about. Take the challenge.

And yeah,I find elimination play more interesting than cash.

I loose interest in long freerolls to the point of throwing it away on nothing. I am also looking for the commitment or patience to continue to the end. When playing for playchips you know you can just close out and nothing is lost but with the possibility of winning real money it pulls my strings.I also learned that towards the end of MTT's the players who have been playing together for long periods of time team up on new players and that pressure sucks. I hate the feeling of 5 friends and 1 stranger.
