I always want to recoup after a big loss. and in the end I lose much more. how to force yourself to stop in time. I want to play no more than a certain limit of money and time. I'm waiting for your advice.

You need to stop when you do not play your best game. And never try to recoup.

When it isn't more fun (If you play for fun)...

The same for any MMO game (including cash and free games).

If you play for money... stop if you tilt, will be better for you.

Clear the money into your Bank account. And you don't have anything to play. When you calm down and make a Deposit. It helps.

there is the big difference in amateurs and professionals! it is best to turn off the computer and do something else! because you are emotionally shaken and want to double up and recover the lost money at all costs! the best thing to do is to have a plan, put goal to be fulfilled so the results do not influence as much as you are following a plan!

if you play on the site pokerstars, then you need to block certain games or limits !!! conduct an analysis of your game and determine in which games or tournaments you lose money and block them !!! for example, you can play plus in regular tournaments, but in turbo or hyperturbo in the negative or vice versa !!! You can also block access to the game for a while, for example, at 12 o'clock for a rest !!!

Yeah I would go ahead and call it a day. Get some relaxation time and get your mind right. You're chasing with a bad mind set.

Call it a day relax. Watch a movie.....round of golf...whatever you enjoy.

Next day get back at it.

Gl out here🤠

Hi

What examples do you have for "Plan"?

Is it something like:

1. Don't go all-in preflop
2. Don't call all-in without the nuts

My feeling is that limiting yourself to a 'win' or a certain amount of time is not an optimal strategy. When you constrain yourself with these things you put an unnatural limitation on yourself.

You need to figure out when you perform your best. Keep notes, date, day, time, win/loss , players, game size, buy in, how you felt before you started and how you felt afterwards.

I used to play live games, and late at night a few 'regulars' would walk in. They knew that from 11pm to 4am people are

1) tired
2) losing
3) Chasing the game
4) Impatient
5) Worn Out

These guys could fold like laundromats for 5 hours straight, in the middle of the night ! Can you do it, or is it time to go home ?

So keep notes and figure out when and why you play your A game. Figure out what makes you go off your A game, and learn to recognize these signs.

A game or no game, nothing in between.

I like to stop playing when I'm tired. I have to remind myself that I will be playing for at least 3 hours....

I've been there. Trying to recoup is a losing endeavor. Recoup implies that you are in a negative state of mind which is not good for proper play.

To stop playing when you hit your limit, you need to only carry your limit (obviously when playing live) and leave your wallet/debit card at home. Cool off, then go to play more, not play to recoup.

Play a specific set of buyins or MTTs and play for a set amount of hours. If you like to play 2-3 $1/$2nlhe or 2-3 MTTs a day play that. But if you go bust at any don't buy back in. Set limits on yourself like a budget. Say to yourself I will only play $100 worth of my bankroll today and no more. When you are running bad, limiting yourself will help keep the loses under control. Or go down limits if you are running bad to help ease the loses. Always set limits though. Don't try to recoup.

Hi

What examples do you have for "Plan"?

Is it something like:

1. Don't go all-in preflop
2. Don't call all-in without the nuts

1 - What will play, goal put (50 SNG tournaments of 0.50 turbo) $ 25.00 invested, get 12% to 20% ITM.
2 - How many simultaneous tournaments to play (2 screens per time), play 3 tournaments per day from Monday to Friday.

3 - I will study 1 hour a day about range of cards, or Game pros flop, value and fairness of the cards.

Finally create a business menu, put it on the wall of your room, and follow the plan!
when you lose from AA to a 72 because he followed at the table, and you took a bad, you trying a plan that does not affect you because you are on the right track, you will know that playing with 72 and pushing everything was bullshit him to have done , and most of the time you win with your AA.
Great poker pros starts like this ..
I am neither an expert in poker nor the profitable guy .. I am an apprentice, I read a lot and study a lot after losing more than 500 dollars in poker I understood that I was playing everything wrong, and today I changed my game, I am in the fight just like you to become better every day!

top up your account to the minimum and try to win if you can not win, then play on free freerolls and try to raise your bankroll, and then play good expensive tournaments or cash games, and take pauses in poker

I think all of us players go through this, we are competitive and we do not want to lose any more, but when I start to lose the application and I will do other things, I try to disconnect and then I come back to recover the loss.

We are together.
