lets say, your in 8th position and are holding any middle to low cards.and 3 to 5 plays bet large and they get raised and then in comes to you there are 6 players in for the flop and your holding 68 suited are the chances good for you to hit smalls cards thinking all the kQJ are spread out to the others that called all the raises?? should i call?

you need reads. do people raise with only broadway cards? does anyone raise with SC? pairs? junk? your thinking is correct in that the more broadway cards taken preflop makes you the favorite vs unpaired holecards, but this skill is normally reserved for strong omaha plays, if i remember correctly. you have too little information in holdem.

however, in rebuys this works well as a lot of rebuy whores shove any two paint in the first hour.

I'd usually fold with that kind of action. If there weren't a bunch of raises and you could get in for 1 or 2x the BB then I'd play a hand like that occasionally. Just so when you hit one and show it, the other guys know you'll occasionally play junk. Also with 6 players in, you'll get good odds on the money if there hasn't been a big raise. Depends on your chip stack etc...

Different styles though and I wouldn't play it too often.

As long as you dont think your going to get reraised for a substantial % of your chipstack its fine to call a raise even as high as 5 times the big blind [so long as your stack can take it] with a hand like this. Because if you hit, your likely to win big. If you miss the flop wide - you can easily toss it away.

Ever since reading Super System (and coupled with my own experiences) I've really started to value suited connectors.

With that much action preflop, I'd be on the fence with them, but I could see situations where I'd play them. Like was said, when you hit them, they are big...

Where people go wrong and think they are junk hands is when they get married to them. Say they get a really low flop but one of their hole cards makes top pair. They bet out and get called. Why? Well, with preflop action, someone is probably on an overpair and someone with two overcards (AK-KQ). They are putting you on the same type hand. So you get called and then they hit a higher pair (if you were not already beaten) on the turn or river.

So why play them? A flop that you *hit* are obviously str8s or open end str8 draws...flushes (but a low suited connector, I'd bet out with a probe bet and see where you were. If it's short handed - you can put more value into your hand)...and obviously 2 pair and trips.

If you have say 78suited and the flop comes 2 3 8 I might call a 1-3X BB bet, but more than that and the hand goes to the muck pile.

But if the flop comes out A 6 9 and someone bets out, I'm probably going to call and chase as long as the pot odds were in my favor.

Low suited connectors, same thing goes. But really, the suited connector or unsuited connector hold about the same value to me. I'm playing for the str8, trips, or two pair. Even if I hit my flush - unless it's heads up, I'm going to play it cautiously and won't make much $$$ on it. Now, if I'm heads up or even in a 3-way pot and I've got the other two on something other than a flush, then play it stronger. But I'm not playing low suited connectors (2-3/3-4/4-5) for the flush. Normally, I'm throwing these hands away for anything more than 1-2X BB...and I may play unsuited connectors same as suited connectors if they are that low.

I'd say more than not - those low ones are going to the muck pile. But if I can limp and see the flop for cheap, I'll play them.

In this particular situation - I'd throw them away with that much preflop action.
