My first experiecnai online, I started I think with everyone, playing fictitious money tournaments, it was very good at the beginning, I experienced that not all of them played with the same intensity or seriousness. They were my beginnings in online poker. Later I started with the free tournaments, after five tournaments and more than 2000 registered and eliminated, I got part of the prize pool, little by little I adapted and played cash tables online, I still do not take it seriously. But I'm already starting to read and watch odds and outs, and learn about the position. when one realizes that Poker should be taken seriously?

it depends on why you are playing. is it for fun or profit? are you trying to make living playing poker? if you are playing for a living it is your job. you need to take it very seriously then. but if it is just for fun then enjoy and learn the things you want to learn, read a book, watch videos online, what i am saying is take it as serious as you want to.

I take it seriously because I have become poor, and this is a chance to win a few bucks. But, until I win something big, I am just having fun with the game and the challenge of playing good.

Hi, I used to not take poker into a serious game because I did not understand the game, then I learned to play and understand the game, but after I learned to play and started to win, I began to perceive poker in a serious game in which you can win, but for playing you need patience and ability to play and everything will turn out!

I don't take poker seriously . So far I have nothing from it and just perceive it as another hobby. If I ever win a good amount of money maybe then the craze will grow into a serious game.

I realized that poker was more for me than a hobby when I began to receive regular monthly income from the game. For nearly two years, thanks to poker, I have a monthly income of about 250-350 dollars a month.

Congrats on moving from 'Hobby' to 'Regular Income'. Please tell us how you make this income. Online or live games? What type of game - No Limit, Fixed Limit, Cash, Tournament. What buy-in level fits your game?

In my opinion, poker is a game and I think it is fun. Like another poster said, I hate to lose money, so I treat each session seriously, given my level of skill with the game. Over the years I have studied the game. Sometimes I go back and review favourite chapters in some of my poker library, or dig out chapters to review weaknesses in my game.

Deep down, I hope my opponents DO NOT TAKE THE GAME SERIOUSLY. The less they know about the odds, probabilities, and strategies of the game, the more likely I am to take their chips and their money.

It's hard to take it serious when you know you are way better at it then most but seem to get sucked out on way more then the odds say you should. I mean you play great and hardly need miracles like the donks do to just win a hand. Then you get them where you want some donk calls your all in with nothing but pp say 55 on flop of AK8. Then they save the donk with a miracle on the turn or river with a 5. I mean I understand that it happens but it seems to happen like I said way more than it should. I've won the LeaderBoard on ACR for their freerolls 2 weeks in a row before and usually get in the top 15 at least weekly but it seems to hard to build any kind of bankroll because of the things I stated above.

For the first 2 years I treated poker as a hobby, but later, when I read the material on poker theory and looked at enough training, I began to win, I began to take it more seriously. I understand that poker can be earned, but another question is how much poker can earn. At the moment, I just played enough amount to play on micro-limits. I hope in the near future to go low limits.
My only problem is, after increasing the bankroll required to play at low limits, I can go to play in the casino at the slot machines and usually lose and roll down on the micro-limits.

I don't think you can really play serious poker unless you're playing for serious money, and when someone is doing that, their head will automatically be in a seriously focused state. Players like Dan Negreanu amaze me how they are obviously serious players but approach the game in such an apparently casual way -- being sure to keep it fun but never losing that 20-20 focus.

You need to understand one thing, that professional poker is not for everybody!
It really takes lots of your time and also there is no guarantee, that you will earn anything.
Right now lots of people can play poker really well and it,s harder to earn money playing poker, than it was couple years ago, when this game was totally new for the most of the world.

I'm only new but yeah I take it pretty seriously, as every decision can be either a made hand or a bluff, (this goes a lot more live than it does for online) if your not thinking quickly enough your giving off timing and concentration tells, that can breed indecision possibly from a previous pot loss or simply just your concentration is waning and will continue to go in that direction until you get a hold of it. Maybe I'm trying to hard but I'm not yet at a 'comfortable point' where I'm content (with what I know) and can continue to replicate performance, by becoming automatic (constant) in performance and image.
