I also do not consider myself a good ring game player, but I can almost pinpoint exactly why. I usually get up in chips in ring games, but in my case NEVER get up from the table. Example, 2 nights ago, playing OHL, I got within 2 cents of doubling my bankroll. I knew I should take the profit and leave, but that 2 cents teased me, and I blew it all.
There is a distiction between SNG and MTT, and sometimes the distiction is blurred, how big of a SNG is it before it really is a MTT.
Single table SNG, I think one has to start with a bit more aggression, as these are structured to be over fast. I have had success being tight till there were only 4 left, but one has to take advantage of all the lessons learned.
In MTT's survival has to be among the very top attributes.
