The question I have is do people actually enjoy playing razz? I know it is a form of poker, but i do not see how anyone can prefer razz over hold'em or any other poker game that is on a poker site. If razz is your favrite game you must be the iron man of withstanding bordem. For some reason I am very good at it and seem to do well when I play in the freeroo on Full Tilt. But personally I wish that it could be taken out of the HORSE events all together just so I don't have to deal with it.

hey its just a matter of personal taste...to each their own. the purists prefer omaha, razz and horse over holdem. yet the numbers tell the story: holdem is by far and away the most popular variation of poker worldwide, live and online.

what about that horse game, i really dislike it, dont know why they like to play it in the tv tourneys sometimes....
Maby because its considerd the best game to see who is the best allround player..

Razz and Horse are great games because if your good at them u have a much bigger advantage over weaker players then in NLTH imo.

To bad i suck :(

I like razz and horse. I like them because there are a lot of bad players that play it. It's ease to make money.

I don't see why people harp on Razz being boring. It's just like any other poker variation, you have a winner and you have losers. Just because the rules of Razz are to get the worst hand shouldn't make it boring. You are still striving to do something better than the other people at your table. Why should missing a 764A draw be any different than missing a flush draw on the river? Why should having a made 7532A beat by a 6543A on the river be any different than having your set beat by a flush or straight on the river?

I love razz
and have placed in the money in plenty of tournies.

There is a bit more strategy involved than to the untrained eye.

I think the real difference isn't in the high vs. low (although that also makes a difference because 4 aces are just so pretty), but in the limit vs. no limit. People like the freedom associated with being able to bet whatever you want, which is why NL games have become so popular in recent years. NL also increases the amount of successful bluffs (and idiots who think they can bluff) which also makes for good TV and therefore makes for a lot of people who try to copy it.

That's my theory, but I think people just like having less constraints. That said, I love razz because I exploit others' weaknesses very well in it :D Horse is still my favorite because there's so much more broad skill required for the tournaments.

you cant take razz outta HORSE.....but some HOE, HA, and SHOE/HOSE tournies would be nice

maybe the "reason you are very good at it" is because it's NOT hold em and the usual bingo clowns dont last very long in LIMIT games...as they are not condusive to retarded play.......actually have to know how to play to last in limit games..... you should be happy that there's something to play other than the usual NL hold em donkfest

only reason any of these sites have horse last couple years is because they have the 50k horse at wsop......what's on tv is what they have online.....that's why 80% of online is NL hold em.....couple of years ago it was more like 95%...

so..at least it's getting better....a little more diverse....instead of all NL hold em

I'm not a big fan of razz....but it's better than 2-7 lowball...now theres a game that can really drive you nuts

What you say is true to an extent, but you usually don't see people say they HATE Limit Hold'Em but most will almost always say that about Razz. I think because ultimately when playing Limit Hold'Em, at least the game is familiar to them. Even if they can't go all in.
