What drew you to poker?
When I was around 19-20 I gained interest from watching my dad play and him describing the game to me. I had heard of poker before but never had any interest in playing. I thought the rules would be too hard to learn and it the game would be confusing. At first I was really confused and it took me months to learn some basic concepts.
It is kind of odd but I actually don’t remember my motivation to play poker. It wasn’t wining money because at first I didn’t think I would play a cash game. I was not inspired by the WSOP
either. I honestly don’t remember.
Where you a winning/losing player?
I was and still am a losing player sadly for me.
Did you play too high for you BR?
No. I only played micro stakes…OK, I did play three sessions in casinos
but after losing fast I quickly realized that was a bad idea. I just remember losing my last chips and then getting up and storming out of the room…LOL.
Did you disregard everything or moderate it off the bat?
I am confused by this question. If you mean did I care if I lost then yes I did but I didn’t care financially. I just was more annoyed at how I badly was playing.
How much did you win/lose in your first month of really getting into it?
I lost around $40 my first time playing for cash. I lost about $200 overall not including the few times I went to a casino. Sadly, the poker trackers do not lie.
Last, but not least! What was your FIRST big lesson??
I don’t remember exactly but this video
had a big impact on how I thought about the game. I watched many more of his (Split Suits) videos.
