What are your downswings?

I am currently playing 10nl and just hit my downswing..most of them due to bad luck and some few bad play..

Down about 8 buy-ins total for around $80 in a few days..

what are your downswings (in buy-ins) at these stakes?

This year I have had 2 x 20+ buy in d/swings. 1st one was in feb at 50nl 6max. This month I had one at 100nl full ring.

That is brutal !
I have had trouble dealing with a 8 BI downswing over 3 days

whoa..jagsti..please tell me how you dealt with that..and how long was it for before you got back running normal?..Im just losing so much confidence when these things happen and always trying my best to adjust

Well it's not easy. But what helps more than anything is being rolled for it. This tempers tilt imo. The fact I have like 50-100 buy ins for my current level, just makes it so much easier to deal with it, plus the knowledge that overall, I'm a winning player. Now I know I could increase my winrate, if I chose not to play through the d/swongs, but as I've said before, I'm a Fpp whore and coz my roll if sufficient, I just play through them.

Im down about 7 buyins at 50nl but im still rolled for that limit so im gonna try and play through it. Sometimes switching to 5 card draw or stud for a while helps me coem through it. Either that or ill just take a break for a week or 2.

I`m a tourny player, so downswings are nothing new.

What really makes u mad playing MTT is when u r real card dead /u miss every flop/ evert time u fold preflop the dream flop shows for the hand you have just folded.

And also, as has just happened, my pocket 8`s get destroyed on river...

I just experienced a 10 BI downswing at 50NL. It was tough to deal with it as my largest prior to that was about 5Bi's down. Instead of playing through it and tilting like crazy I decided to take a couple day break, watch some Cardrunners Vids and not stress it. I came back relaxed and rejuvenated w/ some new thoughts on my play and have been running decent since (knock on wood).
