Just block the abusers chat. They aren't worth more effort.

You can also attempt to engage them in chat so that they are targeting you instead of playing an unbiased game. Basically, they will enter a pot with less than premium hands against you to try to take you out if you can upset them toward you personally all the while remaining unbiased to the game but also realizing when they enter the pot or re-raise you are most likely ahead. An example is in the wsop when Curtis Rystadt went after Kyle Keiranan (sp?) intentionally and called with poor hands to enter the pot. In the end, Curtis called off all his chips to a nut flush and lost his entire stack to the guy. Kyle wasnt abusive but he made smart remarks in response to the constant attacks of his opponent and ended up stacking him.

You can block their chat.

Or just ignore them because who cares what people say to you. Especially something coming from a player thousands of miles away from you that's behind a computer screen. That stuff should not bother you in the slightest. And who cares what you did or what happened? You have nothing to prove to them and don't have to justify your actions, nor do you have to play their way. You do what you want when you play, as long as its within the rules and not cheating.

Honestly, just laugh it off and move on.

If they are very abusive you can report it.

But if it bothers you, block chat. I prefer to know who is abusive as it is often a tell. It tends to not bother me at all, and if it does, I know it is me who is tilting.

many possibilities:

-you just ignore him by blocking his chats
-you defend yourself, let him enter in your head and cost you your tournement
-you report him instantly.

anyway, ill tell you what ill do:
-if its someone that complains about the way i played or the hand i played,i can manage him and make him calm down with just a sorry
-but if its the hardcore type(f*ck you, your m*m,die or etc..),this guy just want to hurt you.you cant disuss with them.just ignore them until you think enought is enought and report them

thanks :)

I think you can use any tilt against any player. I've been told more than once that you don't want to run any tilted player away from the table, because most of the time they are going to try harder to win by playing more hands, which is a mistake. Just keeping your cool is what is the most important. Try to say something nice to them, and you will see that will tilt them more. Or saying nothing at all will do the same. For me, I never cut off my chat, because I can see just how tilted a player becomes. GL to you

I love it when players abuse me in the chat! I'm not kidding: the best part about hitting a 1-outer on the river and sucking out on someone isn't winning a big pot... the best part is seeing their reaction! It's so priceless! When they swear at me in chat, it just makes me laugh even harder! I will type "hahaha" in chat, just to rub it in even more, and then they'll swear at me even more and I'll continue laughing and it will make them so angry haha.

I love trolling people who are sensitive to bad beats. It's hilarious! When they swear at me in chat, it makes me feel so much better about the win :D

But I guess us Aussies are just trolls in general :p Look up Tony G if you don't believe me.

I just saw another post asking if poker is a sport. In most sports, you need to handle an opponent trash talking (just ask any basketball player). Learn how to ignore it, and it will make you a better player.

As other people have said;

*Ignore them
*Be nice to them
*Apologise
*Report them
*Block them

Depends on the circumstances really...

I found myself getting really angry the other day when I was knocked out of a tourney... I was short-stacked and had gone all in with J,J (ewwww) preflop and this guy called me with something like K,6 off suit.. Long story short he hit four cards to make a straight and I think the combination of the call and him hitting four cards made me flip out... The river was a jack which just rubbed salt in the wound, LOL

Usually I always try to be polite and well-mannered but on this occasion I lost it and was a bit abusive to the player in regards to his play etc...

In other instances where I've had aggressive exchanges with players at the table within a short space of time we both calm down, apologise and often end up getting on really well!

A lot of people use this type of thing in their game trying to get you off yours if you are beating them. Laugh at them. Don't let anything said at the table bother you. I use table talk trying to draw calls or folds but I am not abusive. I have had a few abusive players target me and they got it back twice as thick and all of a sudden they didn't want to talk to me. Reporting usually only gets chat blocked for a week or so. Ignore them, have a laugh at their inadequacy, and take em out.:D:D

Personally, I don't pay any attention to it and nothing anyone could say would really bother me. If people want to act like idiots, that's their problem.

On ACR, I haven't seen a option to block a person's chat while they're still at the table, but you can turn off observer chat once you've felted them.

Seemed to me the OP was regarding beating a player. I am, more than I should, prone to "giving him the business" once I'm out and gone. Did this again recently when a guy called my 4x BB raise preflop with 3q when I had KK. He was in early position and I think I was one of the blinds. The whole play makes so little sense to me that I blow up Matusow/Hellmuth style. I don't get (or can justify) even his initial limp with such garbage. Then, to call multi-way with a pretty good size raise preflop is ONE thing. But then on the flop, when he hits a 3, he now calls (max bet tech) 2/3rd pot for most of the rest of his remaining chips. I wasn't really going after him, but the others with more chips when I bet like 1.2-1.5x pot to put then all in on the turn. He was the only one who called because it was a 3. He laughs at me the whole time and suggests he is a superior player. I'm not really bitching about play like this. By all means, try it all day, we'll see where it gets you. But I was super pissed at the time and made it known.

-EV to engage an idiot in chat unless you want to attempt to induce a tilt spew from them when you have a hand. Can be fun but high variance since if they are truly on IMT you will be playing for entire stacks.

I try not to answer such players. They are not worthy, that would lead a conversation with them. There are many players from Russia. Sometimes I just disable the chat.
