What would you do without poker?

Like me, I am sure you find that poker takes up some considerable periods of time out of your life. I've just read a thread where a young guy is considering taking a year out of university to play poker. So it kinda got me thinking.

If poker didn't exist, or wasn't as readily available to you as it is, what would you be doing in that time that was now spare or free time? Maybe this will get us all thinking of some of the things that we miss out on because of poker and recalibrate our lives (or not!)

if poker did not exist, I'd be doing everything I ever did, I do not believe that poker is so significant so as to change my life, so the lack of it would not change, or not

Being on my computer takes up about 8-12 hours with about 2 hours of those doing other thing, which reading is about all I do. So since I'm on a 12 and 12 hours of sleep, I have 6-10 hours of computer time. Probably, 4-8 is poker. That's a lot of time to have free all of a sudden. Maybe, I would try to find some things online that could take that time up. But I don't think we have to worry about it. Poker is alive and well. GL to you

There are lot of others card games. Its all about passion, adrenalin, almost everything can replace poker when you playing in real money.

Except of card games, i love to play darts game and pool game.

Chess is a good replacement poker. Especially when there is no money

Exist many others mind games to stimulate the think. Believe that this question is focused more for professionals players that depend on this source of rent. Learn to play an instrument (coordination), play chess or even robotics (without necessarily follow the career path of a programmer, for example) is excellent.

You must have measure in eveything! So I play poker in logic times!

And what if the thing that replaced poker didn't exist either, what would we be doing? Could go on like that forever

really it was a good question and one that makes you think enough of an answer . I think if there were no poker I was studying something else would be more focused on the music I think.

Retired .. have lots of time

I am retired, have plenty of time to play and since one can play at any hour of the day I don't find playing poker is a big imposition on me or my wife. I read books, play computer games, garden, renovate my home and many other things. I especially like to spend time with my 19 grandchildren, can never get too much of that. My advice, if poker is something that consumes you then get a life .. oops, did that offend you?

the more offended the better...might get some truth

sometimes I sit long on the computer, read something about poker or anything else , if there were no poker perhaps more sports, even when you play poker should find time to relax, think that if there were no poker world would have missed something great , and for that I am glad that there is poker , unique game in a war of intelligent and creative people

poker is not only my hobby also I like snowboarding and cycling

It isn't real poker anywhere is never lost if people learned how to play poker then it's for life,depends on the person how much he will spend in my life playing poker

Well it depends on the person, if poker won't be available then I will try to play other casino games like slots or baccarat. The world don't just revolve in poker there are a lot of things to do, maybe when that time comes I will try to have some catch-up moment with my family.

Probably some blackjack.

Get a job?

I'm retired so poker is a good recreation.

If I couldn't play wel,l during the day, more golf and other recrations (petanque, bowls etc)
In the evenings readings as I do at present but might actually get around to watching Tv which is not sport. It does exist I suppose.

Get a better paid job I guess (or try to at least).

I play of an evening as an income booster, so I guess I would find some naff on TV to watch instead.

More to dedicate himself to the bookmaker and the fishing was not poker, I'm not a poker addict, but I like to play it, I can do without all the most so I taught myself not to depend on nothing and no one, I can not control the habits and thoughts to my biggest advantage

Everyone will find a replacement for poker.I played freerolls from bankrollmob on FullTilt and now they are not. I spent 80% of the time in poker. Now I just have more free time to do other things. I'm even happy about it. I began to spend more time on household chores.

Really/The poker change my life for good this is the best game i love it my dream to be a professional poker player some day.I dont now what i can do whitout poker.
