Using pokerstars "stats" I see the flop 30% of the time.Whats average for most players? Also,is there a better "gauge" as to what constitutes "tight"?

I dont consider 30% "tight" play. Under 10% I would.

30 % is pretty loose by my standards. I like to see about 18% of flops and a showdowns won percentage around 80% or better. When i have these numbers i usually make the money.:):):)

I usually see between 15-20% of flops. If I look at the stats and I'm at 30% I will slap myself in the face for playing way too lose preflop. Then again I don't normally play suited connectors/Ax suited from early/middle position which alot of good players do, so this percentage might be low for some more LAG players. Unlike the post above, when I'm at 80% of showdowns won I'm normally down a bit of money, opposed to when I'm just slightly above 50% I normally have made lots of money. Doesn't seem to make sense but that's how it always works out. Just find out what's working for you and stick with it.

If you really want a definition of tight, watch the video put out by hellmuth a while back on playing "super tight". Basically there's 10 hands you should consider going in with pre flop, outside of that you should be folding. I don't particularly like said style, but whatever works for you. But seeing almost 1/3 of the flops is definitely not tight at all.
