In my progression as a player, I have finally installed Poker tracker (with HUD). Now, I am having problems finding info on how to use it (in basic terms) and which stats are important, and why.

Help?

The most important stat to track for your own game is BB/100. Everything else is just numbers.

What does BB/100 mean and what numbers should I be looking for?

I think BB/100 means bigblind won per 100hands.

Actually BB/100 is big bet not big blind. Big bet is a limit term which is equal to 2x the big blind. So if you are playing NL100 the big bet is $2. BB/100 is basically an indication of your rate of winning (or losing) at poker.

Stats that are important are stuff like VP$IP (basically how often somebody enters a pot), pfr% (how wide a person's preflop raising range is), af (aggression factor...the ratio of bets/raises to calls), steal attempt% (how often the person attempts to steal blinds from LP) etc etc, but im sure it is all in that thread.

To me, I want to win better than 12% of hands overall and at least 80% at showdown, at a ten person table. Forever.

You're probably not going to SD often enough if you're winning 80% of them.
