I have no ideal. What defines a winning player? If someone is a couple bucks ahead, is that winning? It is probably safe to assume bigger percentage of losing players than winning.

Winning players only exist because the majority are losing

Yeah, just remember since poker is a zero sum game, whenever someone wins, sometime has to lose.

I think that if you play smart, and with 40+ buy-ins, you will be a winning poker player over time.

But if you're play .05 -.10 with a $100 dollar bankroll, you can do everything right and still lose it all.

You know ... I've always asked myself that question ... I've always been curious to know what is the percentage of winning players in poker ... I'm sure it's not easy to be a winner ... and I think the way to become a winner in poker begins by not losing ... and start having a record day after day in your game that allows you to win ,,,!

You have to figure in rake and fees also. Especially if playing low limit live. Really tough to consistently beat rake there imo.

But to answer op it appears just about everyone is winning player besides me. Hope you all enjoy my money

Hi.
I have never heard of such statistics.
It would be interesting to know how many players are the winners.
I can try guessing, I think that the winners are no more than 3-5%.
Good luck.

It depends on what you consider winning. If you mean people who live from poker or at least it is substantial additional income for them i guess no more than 5 to 10 percent. If you add people like me who play only freerolls to build bankroll and gained a few dollars you will maybe reach around 15%. Ofcourse this is what i think. I have never seen such statistics based on hard data.

I also think that 25% of successful players is too much! After all, the pokerrooms somehow exist and bring their owners billions! and freerolls do not come from heaven after all! So 2% as wrote above is somewhere nearby-I even think it can be about 1%!

I have read that 30% are winners. The 70 % who lose fund the industry.

I don't think that can be specified a certain percentage of winning players in poker that's mainly because in poker there are days when you win a lot and days when you loose a lot so it's hard to say....

The percentage of winners of course is much less than the losing of the total number of all players...

I read the 10% figure years ago,( I think it was Sklansky maybe ? ). This would have been before internet poker, but I think that number sounds reasonable. I also remember reading,( definitely Sklansky ), that it was normal for the top players in the world to have losing sessions 25% of the time. Of course the better you are the less you lose in those sessions and win more in your winning sessions.

If I remember its around 25-30% of players that are classed as"winners"in poker with obviously on average that figure going up the more hands a player plays.

Difficult question. I think such statistical information exists. I can only guess. In my opinion, the winners are no more than 5-7% of the players.

It's hard to put a number on how many players are winners, because i could be a winner at micro stakes but a breakeven player or losing player at low stakes. But i have the utmost respect for anybody who has poker as his/hers only income.

Hello.
Unfortunately, I am sure I am not one of those players who can be called winners.
I play poker for only 5 months, and maybe over time I will also become a winner.
