How do you feel when you make the right decisions but do not take the pot? What is more important to win the hand or take the right bet and decision? AAx 72

Sometimes I feel annoyed when I play the whole game I have the correct reading of what the villain does not have and I end up finding the worst possible hand that I can not see the logic of having paid the bets until the river happens to you? How do you feel about that?

Welcome to poker. Some people will call with rags, hit something on the flop and commit to the river just based on that - playing their hand, not the table or the players.

It happens. Shake it off and move on.

That is probably the #1 most maddening aspect of poker. Careful though -- even good player, when they lose their cool, will end up making even more mistakes.

the main thing is that you know that you played correctly, I had such that I lost as well, but I know that I played it right, but the river killed my set of aces, giving the opponent a flush for him to beat 7 and 2 of the same suit.

in this game of poker there is a part called variance ... you must realize that all hands, however bad they seem, have a percentage of chances to win ... from my point of view I prefer to lose a hand for the percentage of the variance that losing a hand for being afraid to place a bet

I'm very annoyed when a player wins a pot with a card that I always throw out. And he risks the whole stack. It's just not so gentlemanly to play. I understand when the bb is big and the stack is small and the exit one of the position is allin. And even more I hate those that write to him later - a good hand.

You just have to have faith in the numbers and believe that over time if you make the right choices that you will come out ahead and that's all you can do. Don't start making the wrong choices! :)

I feel we should aspire to play as close to "perfect" poker as we can and let the cards (and chips) fly.:D

Hy,
Thats poker! but U r Right, it´s annoying. It depends on the bankroll. If U have eg 1 million, U don´t care to go ai with every shit U got, just for fun. :reddy:
I play a lot of freerolls, the first 15 mins or so all these crazy pre-flop-all.in-sukkkers spoil the game. U have to be patient, patient, patient and patient again, wait 4 position and cards and then call em. ;) U will win more than U loose. :D

And this AA pocket. It´s like any pocket pair, a speculative card to see the flop. Itßs the highest pair, but still only a pair. The lowest count. And it´s hard to improve. only 2 outs, apart from 4 card flush and straight. So give a 2 or 3 BB OR to throw out some players, head for a 1:1 situation and hope 4 the best. :frown:

If you lost the hand you played it wrong in that 1 instance. That's poker.

Making the right logical and justifiable decision is always better. As a poker player, something you must be okay with is the element of chance, but you cannot be afraid of this.

For example, I had TT today and the board came 963 with two hearts. When my opponent shoved over my bet, I was pretty certain he had a flush draw and little else. But knowing this (even if I am wrong) I can't lay it down. Let's say he has A8 of hearts, then the only cards that will beat me are aces and hearts, which at the most there are a total of 12 total left in the deck, so the odds are in my favor. I made the call, he had A2 of hearts and the river was the king of hearts. Was I upset? Of course, but I will be winning there more often than I am losing, and that is more important.

You keep making those predictable decisions and you will be exploited constantly by the right person. Dont play the cards you need to play the players on the table gl

Look for tells. Be it live or online, look for tells. If you can find a tell exploit it. The moral of my thoughtless story is, Either way I would prefer to win a pot.

You should try to weigh all aspects of the game previous actions of the opponent, the level of rates, the style of the player, stacks of opponents and much more. And in the end, even if it is hard reset and you're sure that the bit must be reset even premium hands.

When I play and make the right decisions I feel sometimes annoyed, I play correctly and confidently but the map on the Turn and River sometimes interrupts my cards, different moments occur in the game and I lose less on AA against 7-2 , I play aggressively and often I play all-in, it's more important for me to win the pot but my good card sometimes fails me and I'm very upset, so many things happen when I have an excellent card on Flop but then it is killed by some small Straits or Flash or Full-ha ties and it's sad, but it's poker and there are moments in the game when you win on bad cards!

I think both things are very important. I don,t understand, how you will win anything if you will make a bad decisions?) If you want to win something in poker, you need to win it in the right way!

I try and focus on what I can control and that is my decisions. I don't worry about things that are out of my hands. So as long as I made the right play, I feel like I succeeded. And if I win a pot but made a bad play I still feel like I need to figure out how to avoid the bad play in the future.

It can be frustrating but keeping going. One of the best tips I've ever heard is worry more about getting your money i good and Less about one specific loss. The more often you get it I good the more likely you are to win. That that makes the bad call and gets it in bad won't have your chips long. And when he is shopping him your chips back say.. Hey thanks, they're still warm! Lol

The main thing is when playing an online poker game specially Turbo and St games we must try to maintain a good stack size and to do this we need to play wider ranges or few speculative hands and when these speculators enter into the hand it is always bad for a Tight player.

For me it is more important to do everything right.
Even if I lose in that case, I am calm because I understand that the decisions I made were correct.

It is annoying but it is the reality. Odds are just odds, which means that when you have AK or AA or something strong maybe you lose! Odds are and indicator and not a law!

I think it's more important to make the right decisions. Because making the right decisions you can win the pot. But if you go in a game just to win the pot, not always you will success because at times you'll making silly decisions because all you're focused on is the pot.

Let me guess. You had aces. Bet big preflop. The flop was wet and scary for aces but you also bet big, you bet the turn, bet the river and folded when he reraised you all-in on the river cause it was the best mathematical decision since you just had a pair of aces. Until he shown you the bluff with 7 2. Am I right?

Poker is not just a game of cards, its a game of mind really. Exploiting your opponent. Annette Obrestad won a whole tournament without ever looking her cards.

Now let me tell you what could happened. You bet really big preflop and telegraphed to your opponent that you hold a premium pair. The flop came straighty with no overcards so your opponent played exactly like if he had a straight or a full house or whatever was on that board that gets premium pairs folded.

That or its a complete donkey, that 7 2 is not an instant fold for him but he keeps calling until magic river gives him two pair or set. But if thats the case you just found an atm that is willing to give you his money and call your shove of aces with 7 2! And lose 9 times out of 10. Thats like the best thing that can happen in poker! I'll let him win 1 time out of 10 all he likes really.

I have no answer to your question, but I'm curious to know what exactly happened.
