I compare life situations to poker constantly. Like everything. And I can say I have grown as a person because of it.
Most important lesson I've learned from poker is that you are better being the aggressor even if you are
bluffing rather than being passive and scared to take risks. When you are being passive, others can exploit you and you lose value where the aggressor takes it all.
The second most valuable lesson I've learned, is that even if you dealt a crappy hand in life, you still have chances to make it, and even beat better
hands, if you play it right.
Another one is that to get what you want you should adjust your behavior depending on the situation and the people rather than being monolithic and inflexible.
I can write for days really, but I'll tell a last one and close. Winning in life is as in poker. You may win or lose short term but its the long run that counts.
