As a small comparison, to make decisions quickly, that in seconds can change the direction of a situation, and that you have to be patient when appropriate.

The only lesson I learned from poker is not to treat poker as a money earner. I need to play for fun

No matter how well you plan, no matter how good you play, no matter how well you are in zone with the game, something totally stupid will usually step in and take all that away from you

my friend, one thing I've been working on and that poker is helping me a lot is in the matter of patience, and this was something I never had. now a life lesson is if ouver 1% chance you have to have 99% faith and do not celebrate until you get the river hahahaha :)

Make decisions based on evidence in front of you and not what you hope will happen.

It's shown me relationship advice. Don't be afraid to fold pocket aces when the board is against you and don't stay in a relationship if you aren't being valued.

It has taught me that life goes in swings. Sometimes when you're already down it can hit you much worse but if you take actions to correct the behaviors that got to this point, the peaks will be much larger than the valleys.

Poker has taught me a lot.

I've learned to be more patient. Keep a cool head. Rome wasn't build in a day.

The poker teached me to be patient and wait the good opportunities... Furthermore, I learned that we need to treat others in defferent ways, depending of the profile of each one :)

It has taught me self discipline - a lot about probability - psychology - finances - governmental policies and there are others I am leaving out. I think that's why I have so much fun with the game - it involves a little nit of everything.

Patience is a virtue. Also, think before you act. Obviously actions have consequences, so don’t go on tilt after losing a big pot with aces or heavily favored and punt off the remainder of your stack. Learn to control your emotions. This is one of the most important lessons I have taken away from the poker table. Things aren’t always gonna go your way or as planned. How we deal with such situations can directly affect whether we win or lose. If a person cannot handle adversity then poker isn’t the game they should be playing.

poker teaches you to think before you do something. To count the situation in advance
