Just wondering is this really considerd hit and run? I was at a table earlier today, and I had bought into the table for half stack, 50/1=$50, anyways I was at the table for about an hour and a half, and had made about 200, so I wanted I decided to get up and leave, but the weird thing is the big stack at the table was close to about 400, and he seen that I was sitting out and getting ready to up and leave and he/she says "oh your just going to take everyones money and leave", now the thing is like I stated I was at this table for about an hour and a half, is this really considerd hit and run, cuz I really feel bad for acouple of the ppl at that table, because I mean damn I'm passive but they were getting bullied left, right, and center by me and the big stack.

Someone plz help me

I wouldn't consider that hit and run at all. My understanding of hit and run is like playing over the level that you should be playing at, winning a few pots, and getting up and going. You were at the table for an hour and a half, thats hardly "Hit and run." Thats hit, hit, hit, ok ive got other things to do, let me quit while im ahead.

You definitely should not feel bad... What were you going to do? Sit at the table and allow them to win their money back? Thats definitely not a good idea, especially if you are already feeling bad. Or sit at the table and continue to win their money and then listen to nastier comments the next time you get ready to leave?

When youre ready to leave a table, win or lose, its your decision, and you should not let other people influence that decision because they aren't looking out for your good and so it can only get you in trouble to listen to them.

You are free to leave when you want. Whether it's 5 hours or 5 minutes, you have the right. People might be justified in getting mad if you leave after 5 minutes. But if they get mad when you leave after 1 1/2 hours, I think they are just envious of your winnings.

I had someone follow me to another table and berate me when I left right after I won 40 cents from him on a 10NL table while having been there for about 45 minutes. Those kind of people are just miserable and are just waiting for something to go off about. They usually have deeper problems than someone hitting & running on them. Just shine them on. Keep your calm and keep winning.

Ic razzle, ty, I felt bad not because the guy was trying to get me back into the game but for actually feeling as if I had really done a hit and run move to the other passive players at that table because all they kept doing was reloading, and reloading and losing and losing but they still were reloading, so that's why I felt bad because it seemed to me that they were looking forward to trying to get their losses back, and I didn't give them enough time to get it back, I mean hour and a half I think that's long enough, while the big stack was just at the table taking there money and still staying that's all, but IC your point

Hit and run is really closer to hitting a good all in and then run You spent plenty of time @ the table to get up he seemed to be testy because you took his stack

hit n run is one of my favorite games, win or lose, lot to be said for not hanging around. Nobody can criticize u for leaving, or joining, a game.

I often try hit and run, when i'm feeling bored, and actually have some winnings from a freeroll tourney. Actually, I used to, as now all my money is gone, and this time around, i'm going to try and follow the ferguson rules, for managing my money. Will be tough going, not to win so much money, simply to play within a system....but back to hit and run.
For me, its when i take all my money, go to a table, and do everything possible to steal pots and double up, and as soon as i make a large enough gain, just bounce.
My issue is that i then go to the next highest table
(eventually a bankrupting hand will come)
but for those with control, the hit and run, is loose agressive play, to try and win fast, and if it happens, leaving jsut as fast).

Its online poker, you can get up and leave whenever you want.

It only matters at high stakes, where you see pretty much the same faces everytime you play.

As I understand this term, it involves sitting at a table, waiting for 1 big hand, hitting it then leaving. The choice is yours, I've sat at a razz table and paid the bringin 4 outta 5 hands and won nothing and left the table, didn't hear anyone bitchin about that !!

he wanted your money

he simply thought he could win your money and he had you covered...was he to your left? dont let peoples words affect your play...if it was a home game id say you have to play a certain time but online..you have no friends..no reputation to uphold ..play as you like or you'll end up kicking yourself for not going with your instincts.

hit

That is Not a hit-and-run.He was just trying to get you to stay n lose your stack, shake you up a bit.If you was doing a hit n run,you woulda been gone before you saw what he typed, lol.
A true hit n run, will stay at a table til he wins a good pot, then leaves, which is what I do alot.

Haha Nice job man. This is not a hit and run at all. You stayed 1h and 30minutes at the table. That's the opposite of a hit and run :p
Plus it's online game so you can just join the table, double up and leave. ;)

Hit & run

Never feel guilty about leaving a table with winnings, I try to double up my bring in, whether its one hand or 100, I leave when my goal is accomplished. Staying at a table too long is asking for trouble. They are just trying to guilt you into allowing them the chance to get their chips back from you. Dont give them the opportunity. The object of the game is to take their money, not give them the opportunity to take yours. Its hard enough to win, and even harder to keep it. So if hit n run works for your bankroll then do it and take no prisoners.

It shouldnt even matter. You are the smart one leaving with 200 plus. If you want to leave, then do what you want to do. Don't worry about what the guy is saying.

what you did is not a hit and run cause you where there playing for 1and 1/2 hour hit and run is just playing a hand and 2 or 3 hands then leaving after winning or after a winning streak you stand up and leave.i see many players do that and i even do it once in a while.

usually whenever i sit down at a table i have a goal on what i want to cash out. say i buy in for $200 and want to make $100, so whenever i get to $300 i cash out. whether it take me an hour or 5 minutes. i have hit my goal and am ready to move on. i also go the other way as well if i have lost a certain amount i will leave. i would rather cut my loses at that table and take a break and come back when i feel ready.

my definition of a "hit and runner" is someone who sits with the bare minimum and just waits for a decent hand or decent multi way pot to get it all in with and take his chances.

if he hits or misses it, he leaves, guys like this usually dont stay more than 5 minutes at a table...
