This is a discussion on What happend to J. D'Agastino? within the online poker forums, in the General Poker section; I don't see him around much. Is he still playing? Or has "Jdags" taken his 1.7 million and retired? :D
Everyone else that's been mentioned above, with the exception of Clonie Gowen, seems to still be playing - the Hendon Mob database lists them all as having multiple cashes in tournaments in the past 12 months (though Paul Darden's recent ones are all in sub-$1K buy in events). Clonie Gowen isn't listed as having cashed in anything since 2009.
And FWIW I don't think Chris Bigler was ever a "professional" player.

Good article but he still seems as allusive in that interview as he did when he was on the poker circuit.

Good question, I liked JDags. I was also wondering about Scott Fishman the other day, haven't heard much from him lately.
As for Paul Phillips, last I heard he moved to Bend, OR and has given up poker to raise a family. He has a daughter named Ivy, and I believe a second child now as well.

i doubt he retired esp with his money , not many gamblers retire on top at a young age , it is very rare but does often.

re: Poker & What happend to J. D'Agastino?
Its definitely difficult to repeatedly keep placing high in big tournaments. A lot of variance.
