I don't like to be lucky in poker, I like to win because I have played it the best I can and I gii good.

I always think of being lucky is gii bad and sucking out, which I do not want to do.

I do see myself as lucky if my PP finally holds against a drawing hand, as I lose a lot of flips like that, but it is not really luck if say your 77 beats TJ+ QT+ KT+ or any A as you were favourite pre.

Luck to me is when you're losing and hit the few outs you have to take down the pot l. Even more so when there is some direct monetary gain from that take down

Luck is when everything runs according to your plans and nothing hits you from the side out of a sudden. :bike:

There is no luck, only variance. The idea of luck makes it too personal and when things go badly inevitably leads to tilt.

I've found that luck is quite predictable in poker. Shouldn't be a surprise. If you want more luck, take more chances. Be more active. Show up more often at the tables...

Luck is getting it in bad, improving to a winning hand and holding by the end of the hand.

Sometimes it happens.

But usually, if I don't play good, luck don't help me.

As a short stack in the late stage of the game, I beg for luck since I can't wait any longer for priority hands. (I hope that I'm not dominated and if I am - to get lucky :])

In a single hand luck can help a lot, but in long term you need to be a good player to win.

I do not like to believe or think that poker is a game of luck ... in poker one chooses which hands to play and which hands do not ... sometimes you can lose a premium hand like AA ... however that is calls variance and before betting one knows the percentage of possibilities each hand has to win ...! One can win or lose in poker by his own decisions ...!

I think you put yourself in position to be lucky. You can't always just raise with AA or KK you become to predictable. Three bet with suited connectors and good things can happen also

its involved but.....

for me unless its a 2-4 out suckout, luck means nothing to me anymore when it comes to poker,im more into not making mistakes....not beating myself,if they suck out so be it....but making the right decision is what i want to concentrate on.im sure alot dis-agree,and thats ok also.but thats my thoughts on luck.

I believe that my luck has already met with me. To have a good victory in poker is not given to everyone. I was lucky. Let and you all be lucky in poker.

To me being "lucky" is misreading a guys hand but I have small chance to win due to outs. For instance, one hand I was in I had KhQh on the button and called a $50 raise preflop putting the guy on Aces or Kings. I only called because I had position behind him and if I hit my flush or a straight I'm sitting pretty. If not then I lose $50 and I'll have to tighten up for a bit to make it back. So the flop comes TcJsKs and he bets out only half pot. I instantly put him on Aces and he's a little worried I might have flopped the straight because he didn't bet his usual 75-80% of the pot. I went ahead and represented the straight and went all in for $137. He snap called and showed AsQc for the broadway. I'm now drawing to the only three aces left in the deck. I've got a 13% chance on the turn and 7% chance on the river to catch one. I got "lucky" and hit Ah on the river to chop the pot.
