I doubt 5% of players are doing it for a living. Plenty of people just play a couple of games online a month or once every couple of months at a casino. Plenty of others are losing players, then some breakeven players, then some winning players who have jobs, then some winning players who make a good amount but do other things as well, then actual pros. I'd say the actual pros are 1% of the total players.
Totally agree with you. I would say that the number is even lower than 5%. I would say my case. I want to be a winning player with a good earning amount but i don't see myself playing poker as my main activity
I think these numbers are correct, with the caveat that they should be percentages of winning players.I think that 3% of the players win an amount of money that allows them to be millionaires, and I think that 20 % of players earn an amount of money that allows them to live poker , but not to become millionaires
My husband played for a living for a few years, but in the end wanted to do other things. It's a tough way to make a living, and very stressful.
