I know most of you will answer that you do nothing and just keep building your B-roll until you make a major score, I used to be of that mindset also.

But now 4 yrs into this online poker THANG, I've adjusted my philosophy.
I now choose to "reward" myself after a a decent sized score ( $2K > for me). I don't like the idea of my winnings just sitting in some off-shore account owned by some businessmen who operate their sites under no governing law (thats just me). Not to mention the reality of my criminal government trying everyway everyday to control, regulate, and tax us for playing a game on the internet. How long we Americans will be able to continue playing like this is anybody's guess.

SO, I choose to withdraw a decent chunk after a nice score and buy something nice for myself to commemorate the success.

Recently, I cashed out and used my "reward $$ " to buy a nice sofa for our living room , so now after a tough losing session online, I can quit and walk over and plop my ass on my new "poker sofa" and relax and recharge while being reminded that while winning in this game aint easy, it is possible..... cuz I'm sittin on it!:D

I've read in other forums that ppl will spend profits on trips, more poker, toys, hookers n blow, paying off their cars, mortgages, rent, etc...

So I'm curious....How do YOU spend your poker profits?

All my profits have been from playing live. I don't have any huge scores, just a few $500 to $750 ones. Sometimes it just goes towards the daily household expenditures, but I've also purchased things for my other hobby, woodworking. I bought a dovetail jig, 410bf of walnut, 300bf of maple, some Ash, some Cherry and some Hickory.

I haven't cashed out lately but the last time I did, it was used on vacation. I think it was a trip to Disney World with the grandkids.

Future cash outs will also be for fun.

I follow the 50-50, cashing out 50% of my profits and using the other 50% to build my roll. Used most recent cash-out to get a 24" monitor to play poker on.

My first bigger score will be invested in poker tools and education. Some will go towards expenses when I move to Macau in a few months.

I agree Kid, I also have money sitting offshore in unregulated spots, and that makes me uneasy. And I need a couch. Soooo..

Thanks for the reminder, will bring some cash back home.

My prob is, I bought in years ago when US dollar was $1.20 Cdn., now we are at par I have lost a chunk. Hope the US economy has a huge upswing soon...

I used to be like the guys who just keep it in there account and build there bankroll. However I just kept finding myself at tables I shouldnt be at and just lose down to where I was originally.
Now I set a floor of how much I dont want to go under and then play from there, when I hit a good score I cash out back to my floor.
Nothing's worse than having a good run followed by a horrible run only to think why didnt I cash out something when I was that high?

What monitor did you get Zach? I'm looking to get one myself, but I don't know which one to get.

so right nc!! I've been there a couple of times already. It's strange how that happens, isn't it? I hate to sound paranoid, but it seems to run that way with me still. Almost like a switch was thrown after the big score...

Only once for me, it has been different, where I kept running pretty decent for a week right after a score and cashout.

Your system is very similar to mine. I like to play with a minimum cushion also.

All sittin in my bank account. Im sort of wierd, I dont really have a set system of when I withdraw profits. I just sort of decide one day that I want to take some out and I do it. Ive cashed out 2500 since March and its all sittin in my bank account right now. I thought about buying a new Flat Screen TV with it, but I dont really need one and I dont want to spend it just cuz I have it. I might go out and buy a new 22 inch monitor so I can start playing more tables though.

Acer AL2416W. I got it for $350 but since there was an open-boxed one I got an extra $60 off. Definitely worth it for poker and it basically has the quality of a TV.

Isn't the pixel width a bit too big on that one (meaning that the picture is a bit too stretched out to watch from the same distance as a normal monitor)? I was thinking of a 32" FullHD Panel next year, but those are pretty steep as there are only like two brands available.

Pixelwise this machine is as defined as u can get. No 'stretching' if u set it right. Prob is at 40 inches it crowds u out of the room.

I suggest u look into hi def (not plasma) screens, you will need one anyway soon for TV.

Man ain't we rich?
