What do you do while playing poker?

A lot of facebook and candy crush. I've even sat at a live table with reading a book most of the time. It was only 2/4 so not that impressive, but I still did well.

While playing poker I focus on the game. Make notes, etc. When I play in tournaments that go on for hours I allow myself to listen to the music. It soothes and prevents sleep. I also noticed that while playing and listening to music are my results will improve dramatically! So music and poker things are irreplaceable.

Actually when I play poker I have to listen to music or play cell phone games because i need the distraction or I get bored and start taking irrational chances. If i have distractions then I play tighter and better. Or if I'm really tired I also seem to play better. I also don't understand peoples argument about needing to read the opponents when you are not reading people you are reading a computer screen.

And you keep from falling asleep how? I have the boob tube on pretty much all the time and focus on the game depending how it goes.

economics either pisses me off, as in "Jekyll Island", or puts me to sleep if it is classical econ-theory crap.

i play pretty terrible if i don't pay attention but i have little kids so it makes it hard. i do better playing at night when they go to bed

I like to play in a second game, or I get bored and play hands I should not be playing. If just in one game, like to watch TV or surf the net.

I just feel more productive and pay more attention when I feel like money is on the line, perhaps it's an emotional response to my own greed : ) Sometimes I do fall asleep haha, took 50th the other night in a 400 person freeroll after winning one pot... The odds.

I usually never play poker without turning on the TV (especially news shows). Also I participate in the preparation of food next to the monitor.

I used to watch tv and sporting events. I never thought it affected my playing but, a friend noticed it did, spoke to me to try to turn off the tv and try listening to music and really focus on the game. Have to admit it's helped.

I usually have the tv on and caught up on series I don't have time to whatch or im listening to music

For me personally I will put the music channels on my TV when multitabling. If I'm playing one table or two tables in a 9 man table tourney I can afford to watch some TV but I am not really following what's on the TV. It's just background. In all honesty there are times when I've been somewhere where the only thing is the poker, and I feel like a play better. So if you are bored, try the music channels and add another table or two.
Wouldn't recommend reading or anything like that because you will end up looking down and watching the time run out on your pocket AA before you can click it, happened to me before and will put you on tilt lol. Good luck!

I listen to music but actually most of the time I can't do anything else because I play on several tables. When I play a tournament on only one table sometimes they really make me mad with that they run their time-bank every hand and make the game slow so I play some casino slots while waiting

I completely focus on the game. Watching players and their habbits. I have learned to not get distracted and watch every move. It really helps when you have a big decision to make

Some times I watch shows, some times I just navigate the Internet or social media, but when is an important tournament or something I just stayed focused and try not to get distracted

frankly, many have spoken, I just play poker and do not do anything at the moment ... but once I played the other games in parallel, but my game was in a horrible level

OK this might sound odd, but I sometimes crochet while playing lol. Crocheting is relaxing to me, and I have a really hard time only concentrating on one thing at a time. Probably why I end up chatting so much lol

I can't play poker with distraction. I think it's very important to focus on the game, the other players, their play... I play much better, when I'm focused. I miss so much useful informations, when I don't pay all my attention!
