Ok let me start this off by saying I know the answer is pretty obvious but it was a discussion that came up at a home game last night and was quite surprised at a few peoples answers.

Ok you sit at a 5/10 nl tables with $2000 5-6 hours in your up to $13000. Under the gun you get AA and raise to $150, middle position player calls and BB shoves all in for $20000.. What do you do? vote in poll.

Well, wisdom I have gathered from this site says. If you are facing one opponent then you should call. But with two opponents the odds of winning are drastically reduced. So here is my assessment. The middle position player is the key. He probably has a descent but marginal had, if he is a tight player and you think he will fold to a call. Then shove. If he is a loose player and will play almost anything then you will be involved with 2 players. I would then probably fold.

AA why fold? How many chips does the guy in the middle have? Is the guy with AA using BRM?

Is this the level of discussion on CC these days, we've got people bitchin about how they lost nothing but their time getting beats on FB poker and a poll on whether to fold AA.

I voted for 'shipping faster then helmuth ' because I'm a total degen. But the answer is not as easy as people think.
There's alot to be said for not going broke.

Is the guy with AA using BRM?
What relevance does that have?

I think you need to add another option on here
[ x ] play in as many games as possible with players who'd actually argue that this is anything but a snapcall

I'm pretty sure the discussion at the table was a level. Anyone who answered anything other than snap call was immediately labeled either A) a fish, or B) playing with scared money.

I say you have to call. If middle position only called at $150, then when he sees two all in then he will fold. I would have to put him on a decent hand, but he would have raised if he had a good hand. You have to be ahead with AA at that point. So I feel that you would be heads up if you call in this situation.

My answer would be one of the following 3 fill in the blanks... (its the ---- that is what I would do.

A. ---- girl

B. Phone ----

C. Doctor on ____

( Didnt know if I should also include "Snap ----" cause that might make it too easy...........:)

The poll was hard for me cause both answers 1 and 3 were almost too close to "call"! lol

But maybe the guy or girl who voted "Cake" is on to something????

When are you ever 'behind' with AA?

The sad thing is I don't even think this is a level, and considering he learnt his wisdom from this site............

I must be missing sometrhing here! Is this not the situation that we as poker players sit thru hand after hand after hand just waiting to happen. Don't know about everyone else but my chips are in the middle before God gets the news and that's pretty quick!!!

On the other hand, if you really want to discuss things like optimal game theory ranges to defend the flop/turn/river in 3bet pots, there are very good forums for that already.

I mostly come here for the levels, tbh.
