You are at the casino playing a poker game and while your on your way back from the bathroom you play a slot machine and WIN!! You win enough to buy into your casinos biggest game with only 100 dollars extra. with the bills you have now would you play it safe or BUY IN?
I played casino just because of the million dollar race.. I've never played casino on pokerstars before but have played literally hundreds of millions of hands on pokerstars, I done well in the race betting .50 a hand until the race was complete and won $300.. I started from nothing and haven't played online poker in over 2 years so won the money I played the casino (around $15) from a freeroll and I did place well in the race bagging another $65 for my place.. I promptly withdrew $260 straight to my bank account and played poker with the remaining funds building my account up again.. I then withdrew another $70 and was left with about $35 on my account that lasted me about 2 solid months of playing tournaments poker, I actually just lost the $35 yesterday and have absolutely no desire to make another deposit or play their casino in the future..
This is how it works and if I chose to play that $330 it would have gotten lost just like I lost the $35.. more you play more you will lose end of story, does not matter how good you are the luck and odds will catch up to you eventually.
First off, what are you doing making your table play short handed, while you're away playing slots? Haha, just kidding. Anyway, just because you could, doesn't mean you should. You should only move up in stakes, if your skill level dictates it. Not just because of the money in your pocket.
I'd treat that money exactly the same as if I had earned it working 9-5, so I'd be straight back to the same table. If you only play the highest stakes you can afford to buy in to you're guaranteed to go broke in the long term!
I always go home a winner! The difference is either your in this for the money are for the addiction! So what did you do?
I WANTED to see how many ppl would see it as opportunity and how many would see it as a time to walk away. IM the type of guy i dont play for money i play for the competition and thrill of the game. I would always play the big game mostly cause i trust my game and i have good result mostly.
Save it to play the biggest game on your next visit, assuming the field is not too tough for you. Or better still, freeroll your regular tournament for the next few weeks and maybe play a bit more aggro??
