What a dam surprise I walked into, I thought I was going for a live game, I get there and we all get seated at a 10 player table, low and behold there is no live dealer, im like WTF, its all computerized now, your playing against live players, but in the middle of the table is this big ass computer screen that deals out the cards, and in front of you is another little screen where you see your cards, make your bets, fold etc. well I dont have to tell anyone this sucks big time, started seeing the same patterns as I do online, AA getting cracked, 4 cards to the flush etc. I told the guy next to me, screw this if I wanted to play computer texas holdem I would have just stayed my ass at home, he laughed, I hope not all casinos start taking this greedy route, I really prefer a live dealer, dealing the cards. Other than that it was a good time. slots were a little tight, but I will go back, maybe.

I hear ya... I have one of those near me... I went once out of curiosity, but that was enough for me. Do you have any other options near you with live dealers?

I'm afraid this is a disturbing trend. Like casino's don't make enough as it is. No dealers, no salaries required, no healthcare etc. Bigger bottom line for the casinos. I fully expect this idea to expand until/unless the player pool just refuses to play in a situation like this.

I was shocked, and saddened, the last time my wife and I went to Vegas. We don't get there much anymore, so it had been 2-3 years. Anyway, she enjoys playing roulette. I know, crappy game, terrible odds, zero skill, but she enjoys it as a pastime and only plays very low stakes. Surprisingly, she usually walks away up a few bucks.

Anyway, as we're walking through several of the casinos, we noticed some of them now have computerized roulette where you just sit around this big carosel and play against a computer. WTF is this. I mean the casinos all still had actual, live roulette (for now) - often only a few feet away, but people were still playing these monstrosities.

I just don't get it. I totally understand (but disagree with) the greed of the casinos, but I will never understand why, when you have the choice between the real thing, be it poker or roulette, and a cheap computer simulation of the game, that some people will choose the fake game.
