i have seen recently on a cardschat freeroll, and other tourneys as well some players raising hands, but not standard like 2, 3, 4 or 2.5,3,5 bb. they just raise for example with 10-20 blinds 52, or 63. i mean came on!, you cant raise that on a real live tourney as there isnt 1 dollar value chips, at least not in most MTT. why cant they just make a standard raise instead of this weird raises. its a bit annoying call a 3.18 bb raise, and i think it should be forbidden with the exception of going all in. if they bet that way to annoy people they made it very well with me, not getting tilt but really annoys me.

Just hit the call button if that's what you want to do. If you're going to raise, just raise your normal size rounded off.

You'll see this this in lots of online games, not just here. When the blinds get higher there's a purpose to it.

Simply put, a 2.2x raise is used more by a person who knows what he is doing, because as you get deeper into an MTT the blinds are bigger, and a min raise looks weak but a 2.5-3x is more then you need to find out where you stand, it also means your cbet is smaller controlling the size of the pot which is so important during late stages

Why bet odd amounts? You gave one reason in your initial post. It can annoy some people.

I often find tells in people who make strange bets like this.Like a bet of 26 and they turn over two sixes or a bet of 333 after a flop with a 3 and they turn over a pair of 3's.

I do that!

Mostly done to confuse (and I guess, annoy).

maybe there are players raising weird like 666 or something, but once i asked a player and he told me he had his computer programmed so he can bet 1/4, 1/3, 1/2, 2/3 or 3/4 of the pot and that´s the reason he did it,

i was railing a friend this weekend in the sunday million, and seen a lot of players doing that, then i realised that most of the raises concurred with a pattern of 1/2 or 1/3 of the pot so i suppose that´s the reason they do it

now, probably there have been players watching some experienced players doing that and maybe haven´t realised the pattern so they think is funny to do raises like 123 chips, or 999 chips 555 chips, and in this case is just for ignorance and not because the pc or device used is programmed to do it like that

at the end any raise has its purpose and if you do they right one everytime you will squeeze others stacks otherwise you are fooling yourself
