You would have had a better shot at the pot had you bet first or reraised his bet. Simply bluffing and playing like you had trip 6's and not just fishing to make your straight like he was. Big difference was that he was doing the betting and raising trying to scare you off. He was stupid for calling that last bet but you were both bluffing. His dumb luck just paid that time.

Yes the villain was really lucky.
But DaFrench, you did a pot sized call on the flop, and I think it was a mistake imho ;)

I know what you're saying, but look at the flop, no-one is going to pot-bet if they have a 6, so I can only think that he is protecting a 3 (!!) or he has another pair or high cards but nothing pre-flop suggested that, so I can only read that he is betting air.

In the end this guy was just a total donk. Some of the lines on other hands he played were just plain ridiculous. He was mighty lucky though, catching quite a few rivers and donked a few others to the rail. In the end he outlasted me just, but we both crashed about 20 places outisde the money. And we all lived happily ever after.... :p
