You can see the players VIP status now, if you so choose to have to have it displayed.

I dont think this has been around, im pretty sure it just came out, kind of cool.

It shows in Stars as per the picture what rank in VIP you are, this piscogay guy is a SNE.

Where is that setting? I don't think I have it yet. I always seem to get the updates days later than y'all.

+ awsomeness for having a diablo 2 shortcut.

I also can't find the setting :(. Although what help can it be to show your level?? If a supernove elite shows it for instance, people are just going to naturally assume they are awsome and wont play them

It's under options :)

Default is not to show it and the only guy I have with it displayed atm is a bronze star playing with half a stack at 200nl.

Can't see virtue in displaying other than to show off and give info away (may just switch it on for CC games :) )

Hey Buck, I'm 64 in 2 months and it took me 4 seconds. Guess the older we get, the longer it takes - as it is with most things we can still do ...

I do believe it came out with the last update. Can't really see the benefit in displaying it unless someone hopes that being in a higher level 'might' intimidate someone, but that's pretty far fetched. OTOH, a lot of things online are in the same range of 'reaches'.

Well. Poker.com had something similar, but it was automatic without choice.

It think they have more to do with length of time played and stakes level than they do with skill level. Someone could be a chipspewer at 200NL and still rack up the VPP's.

You're right about that Stick. I've notes on Piscogay :)

Sat at 4 tables so far and only the bronze guy had it displayed (and he bust in four hands, possibly demonstrating something).

I think it's only the lower levels that show something of worth and only at certain buy-ins. A bronze at 200nl is either brand new to the site or out of his depth. A bronze short-stacker probably has their whole roll in front of them.

close pokerstars, reopen pokerstars.

hehe :D
LOL. I did that about 5 times and nothing. So I looked in my PokerStars folder and found the update program. I ran it manually and finally got the update.

So why would people turn this on? If you're a higher VIP level you don't want to put a sign on your head saying "I'm either rich as hell and don't mind losing money or else I'm at least competent at this game" and if you're a lower level (bronze) no one's going to play you that much differently, probably treat you as a new player and play straightforward against you just as they would against someone without it displayed.

Now if putting a higher level up would make people play predictably against you (ie either everyone would try to make moves against you or everyone would stay away from you) it could be helpful, but you're creating variables that make it difficult for you to judge reactions. Same reason I don't use an avatar. I don't want to draw attention to myself, I want them to treat me like anyone else (fish that is) and regs would know/have stats on me regardless of the VIP status and most likely ignore it.

So basically it doesn't matter. It's just a little ego booster / brag tool. People, for the most part, won't play you any different and those that do will do so in different and unpredictable ways.

Basically it's there to make people feel the need to play more and get more stars under their name. Nothing more.

Exactly, just brings more money in for PS, only reason they implemented it.

I've 12-tabled 100NL FR for probably 4-5 hours since this has been implemented and have only seen 2 bronze stars shown (both were horrible) and a Supernova show it.

Lol, noticed the same thing at 100NL. Anyone that has had their bronze star displayed was awful. Not sure why anyone at those limits would want everyone to see them as a bronze star. As it would mean they are probably relatively new to the game and probably not good.
