Very nice poker set..

I won a really nice poker set but I'm not one to play poker. Heck, I don't know the first thing about it! So I was thinking of selling it but I'm not too sure what to sell it for. I've searched on the Internet and found a variety of prices ranging from $129-$500+. The set includes 2 deck of cards, a poker how to book, 5 dice, a DEALER chip, and 500 chips, plus the hardwood case it all comes in. I would say it weighs about 25lbs or so. If anyone could give me a few ideas on what I should ask for the selling price, I'd really appreciate it!

do you know what kind of chips they are?
how much they weigh? (individually?)
by the way they look, these are the most common type of clay composite(i think) chips
they sell on ebay for much less than the price you've found if they're the ones i'm thinking of
you should find out the exact weight dimensions and what they're made of before selling them because you might be selling for too much or too little
take a closer pic of the chip and maybe we can see what kind they are
also that wooden box probably adds some nice value to it

Well, I guess I'll have to try and post this question somewhere else - a board where I'm allowed to post the pictures of this set since I'm apparently "making a deal" as it says in the above italicized text. Thanks for your help though.

Oh, jeez. All I'm asking is a question about this set. I don't plan on selling it on this board. If I want to sell it, I'll go to ebay. But all I'm asking is how much I should sell it for so I don't take advantage of someone and sell it for TOO much.

Even though yours has a wood case, it looks like $129-$500 is way too high. Maybe that's what a store would charge. On the secondary market, it looks like they are pretty plentiful and the market is flooded. Not to mention, they are heavy and require high shipping cost. You might be better off trying to sell yours locally (garage sale, flea market, etc.) or save it for a Xmas gift for someone special. Good luck.

I paid $0.01 for a chip set on ebay with a better description than yours the sad part of the sweet deal was the shipping cost me $64 but when they arrived I compared them to the local casino and seen no differnces. the set I have contains only 300 chips. My estimate for you set is one chip wieghs in at about 0.025 pounds.

^^^they have thousands of these sets on ebay they're a real money making scheme...good quality chips but not the best - they're just really heavy and some see that as quality. Advertised as casino quality

OK I'm not that good at knowing what is good or not when it comes to chips but this link is just to damn expensive for me. I never knew that casino's spend thousands maybe even millions on poker chips. Nice link but I'm going to have to stay away from the best quality of chip sets:)

Lots of competition on eBay and Amazon for trying to sell poker chips - so much that it's getting tough for retailers like myself to sell chip sets on there. I'd recommend asking friends whether they want a set for $60 or the like. Postage can be a bit of a killer with these sets because of their weight, so selling to a friend or locally gives you a chance to charge slightly more for the set itself but work out cheaper than buying from online.
