i love playing huge tournaments; i think i like playing them to much. because i play tournaments with 800+ people a lot but i can never run well enough through to get to the final table; i usually can pull off like 26th or 27th which is still in the money but it is only like twice or three times my buy in when i am even lucky enough to make it that far. My friends who usually play 90 people tournaments can hold up long enough to come in top 3 and 10x their money so i am wondering if it is smart if you have a small bankroll to go for big tournaments or take ones where u have a chance to do a higher multiple of your buyin like i know if i had a lot more money i think it would be smart to try big tournaments because bigger win if i get far but at my small bankroll i am wondering if that is a solid plan. i am sure you guys will make a few suggestion and i will take what people say more for the tournament i will enter next

I am in the same dilema. I really like really large tourneys, but they consume so much time, and for me rarely pay off. I think it's the "someone has to win mentality" that keeps me going in the big tourneys. From my limited experience, the ring games provide the best opportunity to make money and you can play at a comfortable risk level for you. Good Luck!

Well according to sharkscope, my average field size is around 115 players. I enjoy the smaller fields for the reason you mentioned. I think the biggest field I have won against was like 500 players.

yea I usually place midway in the large fields as well. 80% of the time I lose to someone playing extra loose and catching something ridiculous. the other 20% is losing patience.
