hey..looking for thoughts on successful LAG play.

I find when, early in a session..I make and show bluuffs (usually big 4bets or c/r)...or show a 9s6s type of hand after callling a raise....everyone overadjusts. I'm a live $2/5 player..id nevertry this on other stakes cause $1/2 is just full of fish, no need...and $5/10 I'm not comfortable on yet.

Those hands stickk out in opponents' minds..I become THAT GUY. Once I've established that...I've found many, even good players/regs, get into awful situations vs me and make awful decisions because they seem to put me on ATC, or super wide range...when really..especially when there's good $$ iin the middle..I usually have it (or air). I can even nit for an hour or two..and they still have me on that image , and will still overadjust in big situations....and even stack off sometimes cause they refuse to lay doown an overpair to someone who plays crap, ya know?

This has been happening by chance..but its somethin id like to control or study more.

Also...I've noticed when I'm up a lot...that laggy imagee has insane power. Ie tag villain raises, I call. 557 board or whatever...they cbet, I float. If that turn is like a 6 ..they're done with the hand. They just want to avoid the lag that 'hits everything'. I've seeen this countless times. Any shortcuts to getting that respect? (Besides huge stack?)

there's a ton of great ABC poker/TAG advice on this board...I never see crazy discussion. I know ABC is the way to go on micros/esp multitabling...but let's tallk liveee
Any LAG advice welcome!

Bet and raise frequently for the small money, have the nuts for the big money. Try picking on weak players? You get to take down some dead money while establishing your image. Maybe straddle a couple times. Throw in a light 3bet? Open with some speculative hands early, for a raise. I have had people laughing at me for open raising decent hands like JTs utg as I collected a nice pot a few times.
I have not played 2/5nl. Your opponents may be better than the people I have played with. The biggest game I have found is 1/2nl, in a um ... less than legal card room, but this has worked for me:
I generally just play laggy (ie. Super System as a back bone) until they start fighting back and change gears. Then change back if I start getting respect for my bets and raises. If I hit a couple hands I tend to raise the agression level even further, but not to rediculouse levels. Picking on weak players who fold easily anyway is also a great way to give a false impression of your looseness.
It amazes me how often people fold better hands or stack off with weak hands and complain about how agressive I am.
I recommend this alot, but if you have not, read Small Stakes No Limit holdem.

This is great poker. You're keeping your opponents guessing and getting to build big pots with big hands. I wouldn't say that there's a fast track to this image. I do think the best way to go about it is make sure it's not a table of regs who, after seeing you do this a few times, are capable of adjusting, putting reads on you, and acting accordingly. It seems like those types of players are in short supply in your game so that's great for you.
Another thing is that I would make your "questionable" move within the first orbit and don't wait for the blinds to pass you before you start to play. Get right in there and "gamble it up" in the eyes of your opponents.
I love to do this at 1/2. I'll sit down and either raise or call a raise and play a flop with almost atc my first hand. I would like to do it at 2/5 but the jump form 1/2 to 2/5 is enormous imo so I keep it closer to abc when I sit at 2/5 for variance reasons.

Good advice so far!

Ill read small stakes.

Jdbr..even pretty good regs have issues dealing w lags, if you're good postflop. Once I think they're on to me..gotta change gears. Either hyper aggressive (ie 4bet or shove when they try to fight back) or tighten up for a little.

Good caall tho on playing super loose when I first sit down. That's probably when they are still forming an impression on me and if they determine I'm crazy/loose/spewy...that'll probably stick with them for whole session.

Yeah jump from 1/2 to 2/5 is insane. Most peoplle who make fun of live poker are talkin about 1/2...on 2/5 or 5/10, even good online players will struggle.

If you are playing LAG, be very aware of position.
