Hi all,
I was going to post this as a reply but I thought it might be worth starting a new thread for it as there could be quite a lot of comments regarding this.
I'm not sure why some poker rooms ban american players and yet play in dollars, one mentioned in another thread was everest poker.
This to me would be a little like an englishman going to his local paper shop to buy his paper only to be told they only accept dollars and his paper would be 75c ????? That don't make no sense.
If your not going to accept american players why play in american dollars? Does this touch on illegal matters like money laundering etc...I see no logical explanation for it.

Another matter :

I believe it would pay everyone to actually read the terms and conditions as well as the FAQ sections on poker room sites, I was reading these sections at earthpoker today ( yes I recommended these in another thread ) and I thought this part was well unusual to say the least.
It stated that no more than $25,000 is allowed to be won in any one week. Excuse me???? That's not all, it went on to say if you did win a large amount like say $20,000 you couldn't cash it out all at once but you would have to cash out $2,000 per week until your money was paid to you in full. WHAT????? You know what I couldn't find?? A cap on how much you could lose in a week, what a surprise.
Ok so if your lucky enough to win $30,000 here you lose $5,000 straight away, no worries you can still cash out $25,000 but it's going to take you 13 weeks to get it. I don't think so matey, if I won $25,000 i'd be on the next plane to wherever you are to collect my dosh. Alternatively I just won't play here, or at least where I stand a chance of winning this vast amount of money. Any comments ????? I'm sure there will be :)

Good luck at the tables :)

I'd be happy to cash out $2k a week for 13 weeks ;]

It does suck though, as for places playing in USD yet banning Americans, well thats good old english sense of humour!

ok well I guess if they don't want good old american money then they won't be getting it from me. There are way too many other sites that like my money, as far as winning haven't yet not that much anyways but I am with you getting on the next plane to where ever it is to get lump sum. I am still dreaming of that BIG WIN. LOL. ok thats my 2 cents worth.

Owners of another forum I belong to also own Nebula Poker (a Prima room). They are based in Australia and Aussies cant play for the time being. Has something to do with the way the licensing is done...I would imagine the same holds true for the rooms that dont allow Americans. From what I have heard, bodog doesnt allow Canadians.

I have a Canadian friend who plays in USD all the time and who prefers to be paid in US dollars.

Regarding Earth Poker :(

Hi all,
Well since I posted previously i've been looking more into earth poker and for numerous reasons i'm not going to be promoting them on my site. I'll continue to play there from time to time to see if they improve on what they've got so far but there are way to many restrictions on various aspects of the poker room that to me they just aren't worth recommending.
Yes Jay does respond to emails in a timely manner but he does seem to change his mind a lot, if he is indeed the owner I believe he went into the poker business too soon.
If you do pop in here Jay this is constructive criticism and not a put down but you really need to word your terms and conditions correctly so there is no confusion, you should also be updating your FAQ section.
I really don't believe this site will ever entice any big money players until there are big changes, one in particular the point mentioned in my above post. But also the rules on free money and the extra $10 for every 100 raked hands played should also be updated so your basic members can at least understand it.
At the moment it states very clearly in the cashier section that for every 100 raked hands played at 10c and above tables $10 will be credited to your account, this only applies to free money won in freerolls ( you don't mention this though ).
Well i'll keep checking back from time to time but I think for now i'll stick with the more popular poker rooms which are less restricted.
Good luck all :)

Whilst reading the fine print is a good idea. sometimes it is all but impossible to understand, and don't bother sending emails asking for explanations as the replies (if any) are just as confusing.
